Exclamation Tom O'Brien first 5 years
Tom O'Brien likes to say he has won more games in his first 5 years at NC State than he did at BC. Technically that is true but if you look closer... (All the numbers below compare the first 5 years at BC and NC State, bowl games excluded)

Overall record BC 29-26 (.534) NCS 31-29 (.524)
Conference record BC 17-18 (.486) NCS 18-22 (.450)
Average conf finish BC 4.2 NCS 3.8 (Atlantic division)

The first 5 years at BC were during the 11-game era. That means he went 1-4 (.250) with the extra conference game at NCS. Finishing 3-4th in division means you can add 4-6, maybe more, to your finish in the conference.

I am not a fan or a hater. I know he has brought stability and cleaned up the program. I just don't see the program advancing on the field.

His last few years at BC, he had that program flying high. Give him a couple of more years. I think he gets NC State to that level too.

He appears destined for consistent 8 or 9 win seasons. Wolfpack fans, however, seem to want more.
