Fact: We have money, and lots of it.

A $750 million campaign is not a huge number anymore. Georgetown has a lot less big money alumni at its range and it has raised over $900 million in a $1.5 billion campaign from 2008 to 2016. Notre Dame completed a $2 billion campaign. Yale, a lot more...

Is it true that after this year, SMU does not have to pay June Jones a 7 Million dollar buyout?

That would be nice...

It's not, but it was the number deemed necessary to complete the transformation of SMU after the previous campaign in the mid-2000s which also raised a heck of a lot of money.

My graduate institution is well known for raising over $600 million in a five-year campaign during the mid-80s, which was a national record at the time and has since led to the massive campaigns seen at universities across the country.

But the point about SMU's campaign isn't the final number - it's the fact that they have clearly outpaced their goal trajectory at a time that the economy has fallen flat.

That would be nice...

That information is available on certain SMU-related websites if you know where to find it (see earlier in this thread when I told Pony94 where to look on the Rivals board)

I'm not sure non-SMU fans care enough to be too concerned, but what's with the cloak and dagger? This is at least the 2nd time, maybe 3rd (?), that you make these secretive comments about how you can get the story on Jones buyout if you complete the scavenger hunt.

Because it is on a pay board, and so I can't post the info outside of it
