While I concur with the sentiment that our defense nor special teams were particularly special, I am not in favor in attacks against our players, coaching staff, and fans. Play-calling criticism is one thing, but the name-calling and firing talk has to stop.
I have deleted a multitude of posts from multiple posters to clean up this thread. For those whose posts were deleted, this is your only warrning from me. I understand game-time emotion, and can get as frustrated as many of you when our performances do not meet expectations, but as long as I am moderator, I will not put up with the CAA-zone crap in a thread that parents, spouses, and recruits read.
If you have any questions, PM me. If you choose to give me a public criticism on this action, you will get time off of these boards.
BTW, for all the negative posts, it was an absolutely tremendous performance from Heinicke. He and the offense were special. Defense and ST look to have a hard week ahead of them.
Deleting "personal attacks" are one thing but deleting a post about calling for someone to improve the defense or look for a new job is something else.
I am withing my right on this board to suggest such a thing as long as there is no name calling or board violations involved in said post.
I've raised many questions both before this season and during the UNH game about whether coach dee is the right guy for the job.
I still feel the same way, that he was a high school coach who may be in over his head as an defensive coordinator in the CAA.
I'm not calling for his head right now, but I AM raising the possibility that if things don't improve over the next couple of weeks, he may in fact need to go.
We are going "all in" this season looking to win a national championship and we can't allow terrible defensive play calling, the type that would allow 61 points to a good but not GREAT UNH offensive, to keep us from getting there.
I agree, personal attacks have no place on this new board. But again, we should have every right to question whether he is the guy for the job.
I was one of the first to question whether Rondeau should keep his job after the Ga State debacle. I said he should be fired. Quite a few ODU posters told me to "shut up" and that I was "clueless".
I see this as much along the same lines. Don't delete posts that do not violate any rules of this board simply because you happen to disagree with them.
You are a moderator, not a dictator and you should not be editing posts that do not violate any rules simply because YOU might happen to disagree with them.
