Derrick Caracter has left St. Patrick's and this time the big man won't go back home to Scotch Plains. He's taking his rep and heading somewhere he doesn't have superstar status.

topper, there are many murmurs out there that Character isn't currently in a position to be academically eligible for next fall. Keep in mind we're talking about a kid who until last year thought he'd be going straight to the NBA. He obviously didn't put a lot of work into school and now he's said to be playing catch-up to pass the SAT and have his academics in order.

This school is supposed to be a bit different from other "prep schools" which are nothing more than just basketball camps hiding behind a chalk board. The school Derrick is going to has a large student body and gradautes who have gone on to Harvard, Yale, Penn, and BC in recent years.

Good move if you ask me. Shows he's serious about being ready for the next level and making an impact with the Cards.
