UC is in trouble, asking a recruit to wait until March will be too late. Look around the state of Ohio. Akron, Ohio, Dayton, Xavier, Kent State, Miami, Toledo, Bowling Green, and Ohio State offer good basketball programs that a recruit can choose from. UC had Huggins which gave then a recruiting advantage. Before Huggins, Dayton, Xavier, Miami, Ohio State and Ohio U. had more NCAA trips than UC. This isn't C-USA anymore, no more cupcakes except USF and the BE won't get more than 9 bids. Do the math UConn, Louisville and Syracuse are still top 10 perhaps Villanova too. With Huggins UC was a 4-8 team in the BE at best. Without 8-12 at best. 8th and 9th BE teams will be bubble. 10th will be NIT for sure. Villanova, Pitt, ND, Georgetown, WV are gonna be either in the dance or bubble. UC is behind all of them without Huggins. Do you think a sub .500 BE team that gets bounced in the first round of the BE tourney will get an at-large. 8 teams is perhaps the max any conference will get. This is why the BE will split. Half of the teams will never get into the ncaa's. Depaul, and Marquette might never see a ncaa tourney in the BE unless those other programs fall on their faces. BE will have the best rpi, but you need wins and 16-12 7-9 record isn't gonna cut it with a first round flop in the BE tourney.

UC is Top Ten All-Time Basketball program OU! We will reload.
The schools you mentioned besides OSU, like Miami and XU or any Ohio program did not come close to UC's success before Huggins. I guess two NCAA championships five straight final fours in the 60's and a couple top five ranking's in the 70's don't count. UC is entering a new period
much earlier than we hoped of course. With the Big East, tremendous new facilities, top ten history, a very good team this year, your prediction of UC failure may be premature. You may want to come to the Shoe this year for the game. It should be a good one with the decent Bobcat team you have this year. The new 2 million dollar video board is now up and worth the trip. It is basically what the Memphis Grizzlies have which is the nicest even in the NBA.
You can also maybe get a peak at the new Basketball practice facility and the rest of the 100 million dollar Varsity Village or the new 100 million dollar student rec center. I wonder what coach would ever want to be part of a program like this??? Gee why would I want to coach at a school with a 1 Billion dollar endowment and 1 billion in construction in 1/2 mile radius of campus, in the best conference ever established in the history of college basketball.
