Pimetel off the team?
There is a discussion on Monarch Nation that he tweeted that he's leaving ODU.

"Miss all my folks out #ODU hope y'all miss me to!"

"I don't attend Odu anymore cuh"

Those are allegedly from his twitter account (I don't use Twitter, so I can't verify)...just FYI. I guess that opens up a scholarship and there isn't likely to be any bigs RS this season if this is true.

If it's true, from everything I have heard and seen... good riddance. He might not be a bad dude, but I never heard or saw him as a hard worker willing to outwork someone to get a rebound or to take over a starting role.

RE: Pimetel off the team?
yeah, he's a beast of a guy, but it never sounded like he was much of a BT type player/character.

RE: Pimetel off the team?
I know and understand that Twitter is an abbreviated form of communications with a limit on the characters. But holy cow I just cannot get over the poor use of grammar... or whatever it is on twitter. The sad part is I hear kids talking in real life like they do on twitter. Idiocracy is going to be a documentary not a comedy some day.

RE: Pimetel off the team?
It's disappointing that these are my classmates/fellow future alums and makes me question my own intelligence. However, this is also my competition for the entry level jobs out of ODU. So, I'm happy with this low level of communication from them and their failure to protect (privatize) their tweets.

Edited for clarification: I'm referring to the regular students, not Pim or Ambrose (they have skillsets and opportunities that none of us possess).

RE: Pimetel off the team?
To be clear, I'm not knocking their intelligence. But as a sports figure they are in a privileged position to be heard and for a better lack of a word, revered.

I just re-watched the video from the pre-Europe trip and everyone is well spoken and articulate. So why?

But anyway... on topic. I didn't think Pim was going to stick. Good luck to him wherever he goes! Big guy with big potential.

As far as Pim, I wish him the best. My feedback on athletes grammar on twitter, it's just a means of their expression. Most of them are also leery of us on message boards and therefore either block us or protect their tweets. I don't blame them one bit.

Example, I can read a random athletes timeline and it's jumbled, yet that same athlete will respond to my tweet and it will be the most literate thing on twitter I receive all week long.

Seconded, I hope he finds his way to a school he can flourish at. Would hate to see his talent go to waste.

There's a reason I go out of my way to avoid following most other students and stay away from certain hashtags. I don't want to read txt speak crap.

IMO it's nothing but code-switching which, believe-it-or-not can be a valuable tool to have. It's nothing new, and nothing for anybody to necessarily be disappointed about.

I wish Pim all the best, but his leaving was probably the best thing for all involved.

Yep, even got to go on the euro trip. I'd love to know what the final straw was.

RE: Pimetel off the team?
Reading between the lines, it appears that Palmore, Bacote and EK are pretty good bets to get some playing time and the rest of the freshmen are still at least candidates to redshirt. Palmore is in pretty strong position to log heavy minutes as the lead guard.

RE: Pimetel off the team?
This was confirmed by the beat writers (Miller, Fairbanks) on twitter this morning. Sounds like this was Blaine's decision.
