A pro renovation argument
This weekend, Tennessee State will return to its' roots as they play Austin Peay at Hale Stadium, aka "The Hole." It still needs some major work, but the field/stadium is now atleast serviceable for the Tigers.
I'm still not a "pro renovation" guy in the ETSU case, unless it's a reno to be a practice facility.
I believe a stadium can be done during the pre-competition phase through fundraising, a little help from different entities and perhaps a corporation or two with some naming rights.
Either way, that place will be jam packed Saturday.

RE: A pro renovation argument
State funding formulas reward renovation for whatever that's worth. I don't think the state will be to happy to have ETSU begging to build another stadium when the one the state already built is so young. How old is Neyland?
