RE: Clemson @ FSU = Prime Time ABC
Looks like Arizona at Oregon has been picked up by ESPN for the 10:30 pm ET time slot.

ESPN is definitely trying to get each of their conference properties a national window game every week. However, they have to balance FOX's schedule of B12 and P12 games at 7:30 and can't place SEC home games on ABC. The 3:30 pm and 8 pm ABC games therefore have to be ACC/B1G/B12/P12 (or BE). They appear to be trying to limit the regionalization to two games so that they can mirror the other game on ESPN2.

ESPN probably asked for the ACC to schedule CU/FSU on this date knowing that with Michigan on NBC and FOX having either the P12 or B12, there was room for a strong ACC game to be the feature game.

I think the new P12 and B12 contracts are forcing the issue with regionalization. The days of ABC having 4 games at 3:30 are over I think. Will become even more done in 4 years when Big Ten contract gets redone.

One thing for sure- I'm glad I dropped ESPN gameplan this year- first off not in HD, and now with fewer and fewer regional games, already get to see all the games that matter....

Good News! According to http://lsufootball.net/tvschedule.htm
The KSU @ WVU game will be on Fox...

Quote:Kansas State at West Virginia 6:00 p.m. FOX (HD) (tentative)

... so if ABC shows a prime time football game that night, Va Tech @ Clemson is the front-runner (IMO).

Hogwash.

I'd rather see ABC televise CatDaddy wrestling around in a kiddie swimming pool full of spaghetti sauce. Hooters babes, optional.

One thing that is a plus as well- looked at the Nascar schedule. The fall race that ABC airs on a Saturday is the week before the VT/Clemson game. So, there's that working for them as well.
