I may be the bigger fool for continuing to engage with him.

You keep saying that I am wrong but you never seem to answer the questions.

I'm simply pointing out information that anyone could gather. You all just don't want to admit to the facts.

You have not posted anything that explains that the 30 million would only bring the building up to code.

12 million would bring it up to code

30 million is what it would cost for city council to get everything that they want.

Here.

Quote:The layout of the building can also be confusing and the scarce parking is another issue frequently brought up, said Shubert.

"It's not user friendly, it's not customer friendly, we certainly wouldn't build a new city hall like this," said Shubert.

Shubert said if they renovated City Hall to meet the standards City Council requires of a building, it would cost $30 million.

Wrong

The actual quote is as follows

"Shubert said if they renovated City Hall to meet the standards City Council requires of a new building, it would cost $30 million. "

That you would omit words from a quote and post it as an actual quote speaks volumes.

Dude. I found and posted an actual source. I didn't just link to a newspaper. I copied and pasted the pertinent information. I made a simple mistake when coding everything into a single post.

The word "new" was omitted when I tried to highlight and put one sentence in bold font.

What volumes does that speak? How does having the word "new" omitted change anything?

You wanted an actual source where it was stated City Hall needed 30 million to meet code. There you go.

Your "mistake" changes the meaning of the quote.

The quote claims that the 30 million is to make the building like new not just bring it up to code.

If it wasn't a "mistake" then why I would include the link?

Plain and simple, it will take 30 million to bring City Hall up to par.

But it would not take 30 million to bring it up to code.

That isn't how I feel.

That is according to articles that I have posted here. Based on the information from those articles, there is nothing that leads anyone to believe that it would take 30 million dollars to bring that building up to code.

I disagree. Interpreting a quote and coming to your own conclusion isn't exactly a fact. That is okay too.

The 30 million dollar estimate is to make the building up to city council's expectations of a new building.

Is that not a fact?

It is a fact that several people have said something similar, but not exactly, like that, yes.

I'm glad that we could finally agree on something.
