Big East commercials are SOOOOOOOOOOOO BAAAAADDD. It's not even funny. They're all simply atrocious. I see PAC-12, B1G, and ACC commercials celebrating the traditions of each conference. Then I see stupid Big East commercials talking about sportsmanship.

Mayberry is heaven, that commercial was filmed in the twilight zone.

Hopefully. I never understood why there weren't commercials about the Big East's history. Was it asking too much to throw a commercial together with some highlights?

That would be a nightmare. The last thing I want is the ACC comparing itself to the Big East. During the Nebraska at UCLA game they went over a Fox on line poll of: Which was the best conference top to bottom? The choices were SEC B1G Big12 Pac12 and that it. The ACC is starting to get left out of the conversation. We need to compare ourselves to the other Big 5 conferences. The last thing we need to do is start bragging about wins over BE teams.
And the ACC isn't doing too badly this year. 6 teams are undefeated and we've won every out of conference game except: NCST vs Tenn, Miami at KanST, and Duke at Stanford. This could be the year the ACC stands up to the rest of the big 5 from top to bottom while having teams ranked in the top 5.

You are correct, Chris. I used Big East teams only because that was the point of the thread. However, I agree with you - what the ACC needs (and NOW!) are victories over the other power conferences.

The debate that folks would have- you list 3 OOC losses. All 3 were really dreadful losses, by at least 14 points. However the FBS wins- you have a win vs 0-2 Auburn and 0-2 Penn St. Temple who other game beat FCS Villanova. UConn, who other game beat FBS newcomer UMass. FIU, who other game beat Akron. Ball St who beat Eastern Michigan. That's not good at all. This weekend you have Northwestern and Louisville as opponents, but are BC and UNC the teams you would want to face them?
And, looking at the remaining part of the OOC schedules, not that many more oppurtunities for good OOC wins(outside of the SEC challenge games). Game I'm looking forward to in a few weeks is that TCU/Virginia game. A game that FSU better be careful with in 3 weeks(@ USF). The 3 ND games. That's just about it.

Best scenario overall: One team goes undefeated & wins the national championship, while the other two go 11-1 and 10-2 respectively (with the 11-1 team winning a BCS bowl also).
Second best scenario:
FSU, Clemson, and VT all go 11-1, with the only loss to each other on the road (Clemson @ FSU, VT @ Clemson, FSU @ VT). 2 of those go to BCS bowls & win them.
Third best scenario:
FSU goes 12-0, VT & GT both end up 11-1. ACC must get 2 BCS wins.
Don't know that any of these WILL happen, but those are my "best case" scenarios.

One thing that is interesting to think about... if ACC were to get a title game participant, would the Orange Bowl automatically go for an ACC school if eligible as a replacement. I would suggest it's not as much of a guarantee as you would think. For one, this year, the Orange gets the last at large selection, so would be either a Big East team or a non AQ team. Esp if ACC gets team in over SEC- it'd be easy to see the Orange selecting runner up SEC school over ACC runner up.
Also in your scenario's:
2nd and 3rd scenarios: VT and FSU would play each other in the ACC title game. This would give the loser a 2nd loss.

I didn't spell it out but I agree, in scenarios 2 & 3 the ACC CG loser is probably NOT a BCS at-large candidate (but the team left out of the CG might be). I can't speak to what the Orange Bowl would or would not do if the ACC winner went to the BCS CG.
