I imagine her insurance company is going to refuse to pay that amount and the hospital will settle on what is reasonable. If not..I just would refuse to pay any more than the reasonable amount and let them sue me. I would relish taking this before a jury. I would counter sue for mental anguish.

The overcharging for basic medical treatments is out of control and sooner or later those profiting the most will pay the price.

This, to me, sounds a lot like price gauging.

Someone's gotta foot the bill for the illegals who don't pay for ER services. Just spread it around a little bit. She's white, she can afford it I'm sure.

No way in hell would that hospital allow this to go to a jury if she simply refused to pay anything but a reasonable amount for this drug therapy.

Whoever the dumbarse that allowed this to be paid by Humana should be FIRED ASAP. That is TOTAL incompetence. I expect this person does not have a job today after this news came out.
