Should Canada stay firm in holding it all together, or is it time to start letting them go and be done with it?

Curious what nomad2u's opinion is (I think you're originally from Quebec if I'm not mistaken?).

This all depends on the composition of government. If what I'm looking at is correct, there are enough Quebec sovereignty leaning MNA's to separate, but I doubt they would even move in that direction until the NDP gets government on a federal level.

While it's too early to determine if he's just a nut, a nut with a motive, or something else entirely, his comment suggests that at least some people are taking the threat seriously. Of course, it might just be the crazy folk.

I wonder would would happen with Newfoundland and the maritimes would do if they had big ol Quebec separating them from the rest of the country.

Sh1t I'm not even sure the Bloc is still an official party regarding federal standards. PQ is the sovereignty party now and they are provincial. The NDP houses the separatists now on the federal level.
