No...Biggest game was Missouri in 2004....There was just shy of 29k at that game......Now our fan base has grown since 2004 and with Mississippi State MUCH closer than Missouri and with Mississippi State being the first Ever SEC team to come to Troy There will be more than 30k there. This game will be a record setting game.

2007 Ok State attendance was at 26k but it was raining like crazy.

Record setting for Troy you mean....

Yes...If we beat UL this weekend it will make the MSU game HUGE!!! going into MSU 2-0. It will be electric

I remember when we played MSU. It was rainy and cold that day, but I think we had like 24k there.

As long as the weather is good there will be over 30k there.

We've done the getting ready for a sellout song and dance a handful of times in the last five years or so and have always come up short, it's made me a bit of a cynic. If Troy ends up with SRO and turning people away at the gates, thus making temporary bleachers needed, I'll be surprised.

Getting back to the Texas State - Texas Tech matchup, will this game be televised? What time is kickoff?

As long as they do the right thing and give the students a chance.

If you don't mind me asking, what's the average attendance at TxSt games? And how many are students?
We had about 5,000 students show up for a no name FCS team after a 1-11 season. I expect that going into the FBS, coming off beating Houston, playing Texas Tech, home opener, and the fact that y'all are in Texas... I think y'all could easily double the number of our students from our home opener last week.
Best of luck Bobcats! (From a descendent of THE Sam Houston)

6pm.
ESPN3

The WAC dictates which flavor of ESPN we play on. A month ago, they decided it would be the Longhorn Network. Tech threatened to cancel the game and all of a sudden the game was kicked off TV and moved to ESPN3.

Last season we averaged around 15,000 in a 16,000 stadium.

In the past 5 years, we have averaged between 12,500 and 15,000. Not great, but better than it was when I first started going to games.

As for student attendance? I really couldn't say. I'd guess around 5,000.

Honestly, IMO 5,000 would be a disappointment... You just WON your first FBS game! And you guys have an in-state rival... And it's Texas, for pete's sake... Go Bobcats! 04-rock

I misunderstood, I was making a guess on how many students showed up to watch us play FCS. There will be a ton more there for the Tech game

Not sure where I saw it, but originally only 5200 tickets were set aside to be claimed by students. Since then Tech returned tickets and more were open up to students, I think that figure is now 7500-8000, that does not included tickets that students purchased.

RE: Temp bleachers for the TX Tech game
They still have some tickets available for students but they also want to retain some for walk-ups on gameday.

As of about 2:30 this afternoon there were 1,575 tickets left

With the number I came up with (including the bleacher seats) that puts us at 29,980 69 hrs before kickoff (10 CST Weds). Could have sold more since 2:30 but that's the last # I have found on our forum
