RE: Next Victim: Hampton
The first 2 games (and next week as well) were against teams we are clearly better than. Once we get in conference the other teams offensive and defensive lines will be much better. I am concerned about our running game. Yes, we've done OK so far, but honestly the one back set looks very one dimensional and not really all that effective. It seems to take way to long for the plays to develop. The actual hand off is slow.
Does anyone alse share this concern? Plus the penalties are horrible. They will almost certainly cost us a game or two if they continue. Glad to see Heinicke slide at the end of his runs. We're just one injury away from disaster.

I said this exact thing last night. If we face a team with even a decent secondary, we are in big trouble. We have three guys who can really run it. O-line improved from week 1 to week two in pass protection so hopefully they will continue to improve the running game. Bobby Wilder seems to have a knack for adjusting not only during a game, but from week to week.

Alex Arain is down field bcause he is a DE/LB. Hampton just so happen to be running the same offense as ODU (spread O , which resulted in Arain having to step back and pick up coverage at times.

If a DE makes a tackle down the field, it could mean he's hustling.

And, give Wilder some credit--the running offense may be a bit vanilla due to the talent of the teams we are facing. Why show everything?

Nice glad to see he is punishing those who committed the penalties. Great way to stamp out all the yellow on the field. Also love that he is willing to do it with them, great sign of connecting with your players.
