Tennessee-Martin Thread
I think we need to move on and focus on having a good season from here on out.

What do we want to see from our Huskies during the UT-M game?

-Better passing (Get the ball into our receivers hands more, use play action more often, at least 20 pass attempts)
-3rd down conversion/play calling (If it's 3rd & long, don't run a QB draw)
-A good crowd turnout, let's not give up on our Huskies yet, this will be a great season

According to the Drive Chart, we threw 6 times on 1st Down and Lynch was sacked another time on 1st Down while trying to pass.

Really happy they beat Memphis. While Memphis is on the short list for worst programs in the FBS, they're still an FBS program, and UT-Martin beating them should get the guys attention and get their minds off of what happened yesterday quickly.

RE: Tennessee-Martin Thread
Get Lynch as many live game passing attempts as possible this week and next. I don't think coaches look at it this way(since they just want to win the game), but why not try to work on your team's biggest area of need during the game. It can only help this team in the long run.

UT-Martin capsule scouting report from the Memphis Rivals Board:

"Offensive outlook

The Skyhawks run a Multiple offensive set and they return seven starters. RS-Senior Quarterback Derek Carr is a 2-year starter for UT-Martin passing for 5,025 yard and 38 touchdowns. He has good field vision and a decent arm. Two of his top three targets are gone but top wide out Quentin Sims returns. The Skyhawks have a thunder and lighting combo running backs in Seniors Tevin Barksdale and Jason McNair. With the secondary issues that plagued Memphis in recent years UT-Martin could prove to be a little more difficult than people give them credit for.

Last season they averaged 34.6 points per game, rushed for 191.6 yards per game, 235.5 yards per game. They converted 45% of their 3rd down attempts.

Defensive outlook

Defensively the Skyhawks run a Mulitple set and return 8 starters. The defensive line is anchored by RS-Senior Tackle Darrin Nalls. Nalls was 2nd on the team with 3 sacks, 2 fumble recoveries and even registered an interception. The best player could possibly be RS-Junior Linebacker Ben Johnson. Johnson led the team in tackles (97), Interceptions (2), sacks (3.5), and Forced Fumbles (3). UT-Martin registered 20 sacks and 6 INT's.

Final analysis:

This will be a very different Skyhawks team that lost to Memphis 41-14 back in '09. They're more experienced and could challenge the Tigers. Memphis has been down since the last time they played.
"

Those sure were prophetic words!
