Hey if there are any WVU fans cruising through here, lets talk about tomorrows game. Two young, rebuilding programs, the loser is stuck in the BE basement.

Well..............not much to discuss here. You guys did a pretty good job against Avon and that is something some teams don't do so thats good. ............teams can go far with great defenses and just average offenses. I got the impression that your team got down really fast. I saw the same thing with the mountaineers last year and at the Maryland game the week before. If I were a hardcore RU fan I would do everything I coud do to get people to the games. Your guys played hard the other day against UT and still only had 12k fans there.................

I have to say that I have heard some grumblings about wanting Schiano to leave. IMO......you need to keep that guy. Our best player is from the Garden State and GS is doing a heck of a job recruiting there (did you see Beckford hug RR after the game........I sure wish he would have gone to WVU) and might be able to turn it around if given time.

Hi KY4WVU, welcome to the board. 04-cheers Its good to have a few more BE fans here. You're right alot of RU fans are in a state of depression right now but they will get over it.

Schiano is definetley the man to turn the program around. Its not showing in wins and losses yet but this is a better team than last year.

Beckford made the right choice, he'll be part of a team that accomplishes alot of RU firsts. Beckford is more than just a quality athlete, he is a quality person. He has a great deal of respect for the people and teams that recruited him, but RR won't be too happy to see him in the coming years!!! Go Knights!!!

Thanks for the welcome! I wished we could have gotten Beckford, but things just don't work out all the time. Do you know the name Akeem Jackson? Herb Hand talked to us on another board the other night and said that he is doing great things..............I think he went to Woodrow Wilson in NJ. Now we are recruiting another one from that school............Turk McBride. He would be a huge get for our team.

On another note............what the heck has happened to the cuse? I know they are young, but I think PP has really dropped the ball on recruiting as of late. Last year, despite their 10 win season, they had the second worst recruiting class in the league. Now they are basically out of bowl contention at 1-5 and looking to go 1-6 if their run defense does not improve.

Overall I'm happy with where we are at now. We got blown out at Wisky because of one bad 2nd quarter and Maryland was just a disaster. If we ever get our passing game going this year we could really be a force with our running game as good as it is.

I'm very familiar with Akeem Jackson and Turk Mcbride, if you guys get Turk then you are getting a good one. Woodrow Wilson is a great school to build a pipeline with, they produce D-1 talent on a yearly basis. The problem is that alot of the guys don't make the grade, the good news is that this problem is being addressed. The biggest problem was that kids simply weren't going to class but playing every saturday, that has definetley changed and there is better academic support throughout the kids entire 4 years.

You're right Syracuse is definetley on the skids. I think PP is in trouble, I won't be surprised to see him fired at the end of the year, unless he pulls off a miracle. I think he was close to getting the boot a few times over the years but he always seems to have a good stretch of wins when he needs them the most.

I think the jury is still out on RR, he is only in his second year but I don't get alot of warm fuzzys from him, (and its not just because he's spanked us the past two years...:) The one thing he does do is beat the teams he's supposed to beat, the question is is he capable of taking you to the next level. It'll be fun watching RU, WVU, Uconn and the rest of the league grow up over the next few years.

Alot of mountaineer fans think the same things about RR as you do. And after last season, I thought the same thing. However, he has grown up a whole lot this season. He has adjusted his offense to play to our strengths with Q and Avon, and he has really gotten the players to believe in him. I must say that it was probably really hard for him to come into this job, with all the expectations and following up Nehlen. Don did so much here that any coach was probably set up for disaster.
