Looking Forward
Good news:

Our defense looked really good, and will only get better.
Our offense looked bad, and will only get better.

I think we will be 3-1 going into MAC play.

I still feel sick about this game, but I can still be excited for this season.

YES. We have friggin amazing receivers...get them the damn ball! Whoever said that Lynch=Horvath with running ability....God, I hope you are wrong. I wanted to kill people during the Horvath years...mostly Horvath!

NIU can do well in the MAC, but then again it is the MAC, it won't matter if they cannot beat a BCS team.

Defense looked very good.
Offense is worrisome. Still do not understand the playcalling in the second half. Were they playing not to lose, is Lynch that bad with his arm, is it the OL, etc...? Defense can only do so much, the offense has to score points.

Until proven otherwise, expect defenses to put 7 men in the box and dare Lynch to beat them with his arm.

Looking forward to opening day at Huskie Stadium!

Though for the moment they are calling for 40% chance of rain and scattered thunderstorms. MD any thoughts?

RE: Looking Forward
WILL our offense get better?!? It is all predicated on Lynch proving he can pass the football....that and somebody stepping up at running back. If the offense is reduced to Lynch running the football on his own then I'm worried.

The vanilla game plan versus Iowa was a master stroke by Doeren and company. It almost led to a victory. But some point very soon we need to understand if Lynch can pass.

Oh how I fear next week's game. I know its cliche but the hangover effect could be on full force next week, this game is scary as hell to me.

RE: Looking Forward
I'm not worried in the least bit about Tennessee-Martin. Yes, you respect EVERY opponent. But yes also NIU should feast next week. Even if Lynch still can't throw and is reduced to running for 150 yards as means toward victory.
