Incoming freshman men’s basketball player Brandon Bowman’s high school team, Westchester High School in Los Angeles, Calif., won the California state championship on Saturday, March 23 in Sacramento, Calif at ARCO Arena. Bowman who scored 18 points in the championship game, helped lead Westchester to a 32-2 record this season and a year long top 25 ranking in USA Today’s Super 25 Boys Basketball Rankings. Westchester is currently ranked #5 in the poll and defeated #17 Poly (Long Beach) 66-60 last weekend for the CIF Southern California Division I state ***le.

According to the Los Angeles Times, "This is just the greatest feeling," said Bowman, who finished with 18 points. "We've been trying to get here for the longest time, and we finally made it."
