Don't worry, if you continue having sub-par posts like this one we'll be sick of you soon as well. Not to mention your AUP violation with going around the profanity filter.

As for the original post, I'm not sure what the big deal is. It isn't like Jurich made the comments and he didn't say anything that anyone was unaware of.

Yup...last I checked we are still proud members of the BIG EAST.

Mitch McConnell is a freaking idiot from Northern Ky. and John Boehner from Cincy is worse and these two morons are running the Republican side of congress and I'm a republican. They constantly run dribble from their pieholes, pay them no heed, they know not what they say or when to shut the hell up.03-banghead 03-banghead 03-banghead

That's right. UL is in the Big East. And they will be until they get an invite from another conference.

Until then, McConnell ought to shut his piehole, because he is not doing the Big East, or by extension, Louisville, any favors.

UL (or those representing it) may be making Ollie look tame and laid back before this is over.

1. This is not coming from Louisville but a Louisville Alum/Fan/Season Ticket Holder who happens to be the Senate Minority Leader.

2. Like anyone from UofL can control Senator McConnell...FTR, as a loyal Democrat I always vote against him...04-cheers

Someone sure as hell needs to try. It's obvious Jurich and company have toned it down since it was clear that a B-12 invite would not be on the horizon.

Whether or not anyone can control McConnell doesn't matter. He is still indirectly hurting UL by opening his mouth. As I said, very "Ollie-esque" of him!

I think with recent BE changes at the top, potential great TV contract' and the chance to maybe get the power 6 or former AQ type status back goes a long way towards staying put. But whom knows what lies ahead for the Beast yet. So far looking much better, but I'm only a fan like everyone else here.04-cheers

RE: McConnell doesn't have the right talking points memo
Louisville is my favorite rival. I love to hate them when we play, but I pull for them when we don't play. I have some good buddies from Louisville on this board. I want us to be in the same conference.

But I'm getting tired of this, too. This has been going on for almost two years now. IMO, everybody associated with Louisville -- fans, alumni, president, AD, senators, congressmen -- needs to STFU about this. If you want to chat it up privately, great, but stop it in public.

I can barely find an article these days about the BE that doesn't mention how unstable it is, and how Louisville, in particular, is itching to get out. Maybe it's more noble to speak up about your feelings, than it is to be quiet and go out as Pitt and 'Cuse did, but it sure as hell is not doing the BE any favors.

If you want to go, get out. But if you don't have an invite, then stow it, whether you think one is coming, or not. Sorry, but it's not really a big loss in football, and we can survive in BB with plenty of other schools, and could invite more.

And don't take this the wrong way. I have no issue with Louisville wanting to leave. Memphis felt the same way in C-USA. But Memphis wanting to leave didn't have any impact on C-USA. Their situation sucked, no matter what.

Anybody associated with Louisville, complaining publicly and calling the Big East "Triple-A," is doing harm to the league at exactly the wrong time. I know UL folks have no control over him, but McConnell needs to STFU.

Meanwhile, I hope we get a great TV contract, and somehow stay at the big boys' table, and this would all become moot, perhaps.

I agree 100%. This talk can severly hurt our TV contract and what happens if that invite never comes? Then UofL is getting less money because you guys wanted to talk about how big time you were. A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush. remember that.

Yeah, I don't mean any disrespect to Louisville, or their fans. I just think all this stuff is hurting the BE.

Well I'm not sure it really matters? I mean the value of the Big East is independent of the opinions of worthless career politicians and Internet fanbases, as well as paid ESPN newsclowns and whoever else isn't Aresco, Bevilacqua and the network suits. It doesn't help, certainly, but I'm not sure it really hurts either.

I do wonder how big a deal the BE would have to get for Louisville fans to stop pining for the burnt orange prison camp.

Yeah, I don't really disagree with that, as far as the TV contract goes. It really hurts us in the court of public opinion, probably not so much at the negotiating table, b/c they can put in clauses to cover such a departure.

However, it COULD hurt us in dealing with the BCS, and in trying to keep a seat at the table.

If UofL wants to leave they can go...but I wish they would stop this BS talk because it's submarining the rest of us and our chances at a big tv deal imo
