Attendance 1998 - 2011
found this on the expansion board

Average attendance 1998 - 2011 all schools

I don't know if my math is correct, but I think we went 68 - 100 in that time span, yet there is only 4 current non-AQ's, 8 if you count the big east, who averaged better attendance than us in that time span. We also averaged better than all the big east expansion teams and 5 current "big 5" teams.

RE: Attendance 1998 - 2011
I can only imagine how much further we'd be ahead if we have a semi-consistent fball program.

Maybe that is why I shake my head whenever I read CUSA fans so crazy about adding schools with 15k attendance, and stadiums that seat 18K. And why I am rolling my eyes at BE teams gloating about 35-40K attendance.

If UTEP had those AQ conference mates, and competed in those spot-lights, we'd average 45-50K, and talk of expanding the Sun Bowl to 60K would be common.

Oh well, back to reality.....

The potential for success is here, but we need more than 4 winning seasons in 14 years

Reality does suck. The only comfort we have now is that the Price era will soon come to an end. Here's to a new future 04-cheers

You know, I was a Price supporter, up until last year. I felt the team quit on him a few times.

I think the strength and bulking up will help them this year against OK, Miss, and Wisconsin. Let's just hope the endurance is there too, because those teams go 2-3 deep. We always seem to have a big dropoff from the starting line-up to the 2nd string (moreso that other teams).

I gave up on Price after the Gmac bowl of '05. After that I knew he could never finish. To be honest, I was never really a proponent of the Price experiment. I'm disgusted that it took this long for it to end. I hate the status quo bs, UTEP deserves better, if only people would get their heads out of their......well you know.

If for whatever reason, he pulls off a couple of miracles this season, will it mean we will lock-in for another 3-5 years?

If he has a miracle season, I think he will retire while he is ahead. If we do good or bad, I don't see him here either way. So I'm gonna start hoping he retires on a high note

It makes you wonder why local sports talk radio constantly beg UTEP fans to go to the games.

It certainly seems like UTEP fans are doing their job.
