Camp Report Friday
I wont go into detail because it comes from the Scout Insider board and I like Tony. It is part of how he makes his living I have respect for that, but I had to at least say a little.

Chryst lost his patience with Tino today. Said it was the first time he's seen Chryst lose his cool since he's been here... I really don't need to give you detail because you can use your imagination... it was typical Tino stuff you've all seen before.

Not looking good... Sucks a lot that Savage can't play this year. Looking like more of the same this year. Against Youngstown State, Gardner-Webb, and Buffalo I'd try to get Voytik some reps to see how he does in live action. I'm not into throwing him into the fire because that could do more harm than good.

On the bright side Chad is ahead of the curb for a freshman. They really like his development so far. They say his release is ridiculous... I mean 3 seconds and gone... he just needs more time with the offense. It seems like Chad will be the real deal. Also don't believe the BS about Chad's height, he is two inches taller than Tino.

Spectacular news about Voytik. So there may even be a chance that Voytik and Tino ends up splitting time at QB - the dreaded "dual QB" approach. If Voytik can learn a fair bit if the offense before camp is out, then Chryst may have to play the kid if Tino can't get it together.

RE: Camp Report Friday
Tino is who he is. He's average athletically and awful mentally at least 50% of the time. That's too much for a college QB. He can't get by on his athletic ability either becuase of what I have already stated. He's just not a D-1 QB but unfortunately, he's what we have.

I would not be shocked if Voytik is better than he is as of game 1. This isn't a statement about how good Voytik is so much as it is an indictment of Sunseri's mental issues. If we play Voytik right away we're going to have to deal with frehsman mistakes. If we play Tino, we're going to have to deal with freshman mistakes. Which would you rather?

I now see where the Voytik wishfulness originated.

The other thing I've picked up on the web is "Tom Savage is really good". Really?

I do hope that Chryst tells Tino to shave off that stupid mustache I saw him sporting. Sometimes that kid just comes across as not being very self aware.

True statement man!
I would just clarify that I think it all points to an absolute need to redshirt Voytik so that we can let him develop and get, potentially, four good years out of him later.

He's not going to really best Tino by much if any this year. And it is unlikely that Pitt is competing for a national title this year. And, I hope, that being the ultimate goal for this program, it would be awesome for us to have a talented and hopefully very good quarterback carry us when we are in a better position to reach that goal.
