What are you talking about? If you could dominate your age group, you'd be all over that. Yeah, I'm sure Dwight Howard had something wrong with him since he decided to play HS ball against kids he was twice as big as. Or about half of D-1 linemen out there.
If this kid wants to stay ahead of his age group, he should play higher level competition, but barring him because he's big is just as bad as if it were cause he's black.
That's kind of a leap. There probably isn't a pee wee/Pop Warner league in the country that would let him play. There's a reason that it's for 9-12 year olds.

Last I checked, it said he's twelve. They are barring him for reasons that are naturally occurring (size). so yes, barring someone because they happen to be bigger than everyone (which is beyond his control) is just as bad as if he it was because he was black (beyond his control), poor (beyond his control), gay (according to many libs, beyond his control).

RE: When Did Texas Turn Liberal?
Just as there are weight limits...there are weight requirements and age requirements in most youth football programs. Both are for a reason. Injuries and liability.
While I am sorry about this for the kid....Unfortunately it is necessary. I hope when he gets to middle school he will get a chance to play. I am sure eventually with his size... he will.

So, is it "size-ist" that he can't be a jockey?
You're right about this: it's not his fault. Where you miss the point is, it IS his problem.
My hair fell out. It's not my fault, but it IS my problem.
Every single one of us is born into a body that says to us, "You can do THIS, but not THAT."
What tune will you sing when the size differential results in the injury of another child? Something that wouldn't have happened if he'd lined up against someone his size.

If he was playing pro ball I'd agree with you. But he's playing against pre teens who are usually not allowed to throw screw balls in little league because it jacks up their developing ligaments. The kid could really mess up some hundred pound player.
Also, by your reasoning, men should be allowed to play against women in other sports. I don't really want to p,ay against them, I just want to hang out in their locker rooms.
