we lost by 7. anyone can say what they want, we only lost by 7.

But we could have won that game. And it wouldn't have been as hard as some may think.

I'll only ***** about the refs for a second, because they did decent, except for the way they called Sweetney on ****ing touch fouls. Sweetney barely moves inside, dukie falls down. I'd give him an oscar, then shove it up his ******. Plays like that happen all the time, but lets just call that one on sweetney for the hell of it, and give him his fourth.

Riley did a good job with Redick in the first half, and still kept on him, although not as well, in the 2nd.

Our defense just faltered in the second half --- Duke ran around, we were so afraid of getting a foul called for contact that we let duke use their superb ball handling skills nail us on the inside and outside...ridiculous.

We took bad 3 point shots, when we could have gone inside just as easily. We missed free throws.

But we did make some good offensive plays in the second half..Riley took the 3's when he was supposed too, and when we wern't taking foolish shots, we moved it inside well, and scored. One of the reasons we were able to cut the lead to 5, but then blew it again with poor defense.

We survived the test at Cameron, and I think we'll be seeing a good year in the Big East, which is where it counts.

We lost that game by ourselves...again.

Next year, at MCI -- perhaps we can get our revenge.

:frown:

Overall, GTown did an impressive job, all things considered. This was the first game where duke's opponent led at the half (which may not say much, given that Duke had a weak schedule thus far). Also, they "kept it respectable," which means that they didn't get blown out. This was anyone's game throughout it, so in that sense, they did an excellent job.

There were some BS calls, this is true, but the refs did okay. Sweeney showed why he is a Big East threat this year, by putting up such strong numbers against the No. 1 team in the nation. He is a Beast in development, and will definately pose a threat in the league.

Now on to Dookie V. I'm sorry to dwell on this, but he is a prime example as to why sports commentators are bad. Whenever Duke had a decent play, despite who it was, Vitale always had to add a shining remark about the player. I think he needs to learn to shut the F*ck up sometimes, and let the players do their job. Furthermore, commentators like him who obviously carry a bias towards a team should not be allowed to do any nationally televised games. By the 8 minute mark for the 4th quarter, i turned off the television in disgust.

Perhaps this relates to my issue with bandwagon fans, but oh well.

Go Hoyas!
