Yeah...Big East should just IGNORE the Billions of potential FOOTBALL TV $$$$$ and just solely focus on basketball.

Fortunately for the Big East, Avesco can walk and chew gum at the same time...so Big East can FOCUS on Football to bring in major $$$$$, all while making sure that the Big East remains the #1 Conf in the LAND!!!!

LOL!! Didn't ya know? ESPN was able to CHANGE the ACC's total failure in BCS Bowl Games (2-13) so that only the WINNING games count in ACC's total....so ESPN has decided that the ACC's new BCS Bowl Record is 2-0!! (Or...just the same as Boise State & Utah!)

Now...with his latest article...just shows how clueless he really is.

Katz is a fool but he does make a good point: the way the Big East will maximize value is to make sure get the most out of basketball.

The most recent NY Daily News report of $10-million for football an $4-million for basketball is a good starting point, but there is no way the Big East should give up the best basketball conference in the country for peanuts. Everyone always says that football drives the bus and that is true, but when the last bowl game is played in early January outfits like NBCSN need programming....unless they will just shut down until football starts again.

So yeah, the Big East should focus on basketball.....at the same time its making sure its maximizing value for football.

NBC needs programming and we just happen to have the best college hoops conference in the land. ESPN controls the market....but they are worried about having a legitimate competitor establish itself and drive rights fees. Someone is going to blink and then the Big East will have it all.


Thank you Andy Katz for reminding us that we should get TOP dollar for basketball too....
