So SNY is showing 8 Rutgers games and 8 UConn games. That's getting close to my proposal of selling 9-10 game packages to local RSNs or TV stations. I wonder how much SNY is paying ESPN to be the home of Rutgers and UConn football...

no, they aren't. The games where it says OR are the potential Big East Game of the Week.

So...would SNY be showing USF @ Temple while UConn @ Rutgers is on ESPN3?

I wouldn't be surprised if ESPN took the UCONN-RU game for espn3 just to keep a rivalry game in a major market off the air so it didn't compete with their ACC GOTW.

ESPN has not used all their required selections for ABC/ ESPN/2 and ESPN U yet. Those games are all subject to 12 or 6 day selections and will be slotted much closer to kickoff.

That makes no ******* sense. The ACC GOTW isn't even shown in NY or Connecticut so they're is no competition between the 2.

RE: SNY announces 17 BE football games it will air
Being new back into the Big East I have an ignorant question regarding TV coverage. Well a few actually.

1. Temple currently has 4 games committed as TV games. Villanova on ESPN 3, Maryland on ESPN U, Army on CBS Sports Network, and Syracuse on ABC/ESPN or ESPN 2. Will the games not already designated with TV coverage be shown on the Big East Network on line, or does the BE Network only stream selected games every week?
2. On the above mentioned SNY schedule Temple is listed a number of times as “OR” games, if not selected for the BE Game of the Week will the game still be shown on the BE Network on line?
3. From some of the above posts it seems that ESPN 3 can select games to broadcast as early as 6 days in advance, is this the type of last minute situation where they will pick up the TU Penn State game which currently shows no TV coverage?

Last season in the MAC I was able to find every game televised or streaming online, 9 were on one of the ESPN networks, 1 on ABC, and 3 on the MAC All Access Network. I’m not worried about the home games, I will be at most of them, but I’m concerned that I will find all of the away games televised. How does the general Big East coverage work?

In most cases where there are two games, one probably ends up on ESPNU most weeks when the other goes to SNY/Big East Network. Probably a handful that aren't syndicated could end up on ESPN/ESPN2 or ABC regionally. All depends on the available matchups and records of the teams.

I believe every Big East controlled game last year was shown somewhere. I counted up the games listed and there were 55 total games, with 10 on ESPN3 exclusively.

Even though SYN is available nationally on some satellite services, a game on SYN is treated no differently than games show locally in syndication in any other big east market. SYN is. I different than say fox sports Ohio as far as the type of network it is.
