RE: Chapter: Why SEC Isn't as Great as you think it is
Random quibble about the computer rankings:

The SEC has been #2 in the Sagarin conference rankings each of the last two years, behind the Big 12 in 2011 and the Pac-10 in 2010. The SEC was #1 2006-2009. From 1998 to 2005 it switched around a bunch. The Big Ten, Big 12, and ACC were each first twice, and the SEC and Pac-10 were on top once.

If anything, the computer rankings seem to support the theory that the SEC as total conference has fallen off a bit.

I knew the SEC was overated when Wyoming went into Leland Stadium a few years ago and beat Tennessee. Beat them in a year Wyoming was average and Joe Glenn was fired after the season.

The SEC, where perception is more then reality.

Great example!!!

As you can see by the score, Auburn needed a late 4th quarter comeback to beat a 1-11 WYOMING TEAM that season!!

Imagine if that game wasn't played at Auburn?

Auburn (9 win team in 2000) would have most likely lost to a pathetic Wyoming team that year.

Thanks again for posting Auburn's late 4th Q comeback vs a lowly 1-11 team from the Rocky Mountain Plains.

your spam posts are sooooo funny.

kind of hard to play at Pac-12, at Big 12, at Big Ten schools if you NEVER LEAVE THE STATE OF FLORIDA (hint: those conferences do not have a conf member in FLA).

I continue to be perplexed by the "not leaving the state of Florida" knock on UF when they play FSU every single year and spent most of the last 30 years playing Miami on top of that.

Florida and Miami have played just three times in the regular season over the last 25 years. They've also played in two bowl games during that span. They stopped playing each other annually after the 1987 game. Just throwing that out there.

OK, so how is my handle attached to this post when it is not mine?
