It showed a contempt for the man and disrespect of the Presidency that no one has ever seen before. I think in Joe Wilson's head he saw Obama as some boy and not the POTUS (kind of like many of you). Until proven otherwise, the bolded part is all you and I needed to draw from the incident. The rest of it is partisan conjecture and a stretch, at best. And I bet if you dug through our 236 years of history, I'm sure you'll be able to come up with a lot of contempt and disrespectful comments politicians have made about a sitting POTUS.

And I assume the "kind of like many of you" line was a vague general comment about the board and not directed toward me. Aside from a few criticisms about specific policies, you wouldn't be able to find one instance of me posting a cartoon, mish-mashing his name, questioning his birthplace or religion, etc. Further, if we're talking about message boards and blogs in general, how many saw Bush as a redneck/fascist/hick/baffoon with daddy issues and not worthy of the respect offered to the POTUS office?

I don't think they could care less about it being on the record. And it really pains me to say that. And it also really pains me to think of the large part of the population, left and right, who are perfectly happy having lies told to them just as long as their side wins.
