Just watching the Daily Show with John Stewart (from W&M) the night after Paul Ryan was announced prviously to this show. Phases like "eyes like a smurf's anus" were used to describe him. He talked about the time it took to walk down the steps of the USS Wisconsin instead of the significance of it.

I watch the show regularly, and would say it's the worst show I've ever seen, and that says a lot. It was like shooting deer with a cap gun... Moral is, good pick.

If that's the best even Jon "I only sling Mud at Republicans, but I'm a comedian so I can get away with it" Stewart can come away with, the liberal hecklers are going to be in serious trouble.

I don't watch him regularly anymore, or Colbert. Jon Stewart will give Repubs a break every once and a while but that's usually an attempt to make a single Dem look bad rather than to compliment a Republican.

I think he's hilarious, but he has episodes where his humor is either very dry, or completely base and illogical.

Stewart rips on Dems often, and he put Harry Reid through the ringer. Mocking conservatives and Fox News is just too easy though.

I'm thinking you don't watch TDS as much as you say or you would clearly realize this was an over the top satire piece on how the media (left and right), who he showed trumpeting that this pick would get us back to issues, clearly followed by them gushing over his physique and diet and work out regimen!

It was poor comedy, and poor political satire regardless of what his intentions were. I watch at least a show each week just to see how desperate your type has become...

Not quite the same but I saw both Michelle Obama (on Leno) and Rahm Emanuel (on Conan) last night and thought both were hilarious. Emanuel in particular had an amazing delivery. I don't know if he knew his answers in advance (he had to or else he was reading off the teleprompter) but Emanuel nailed his delivery. I guess it was a repeat - the show originally aired in June.
