Great to see him talking up the conference.

He says he's going to be relentless in changing the nBe's perception. Also said reconstituted nBe is stronger than the old BE and is a member of the 'Big 6.'

Good times!

That's what we need in a commissioner. Talk us up, be aggressive. I'd like to see him start debunking a lot of the ESPiN crap they've been spewing, too.

It's times like these where I miss Quo Vadis and see how he can pull a negative out of this one. And then he would. And then we ban him again for being a negative nancy.

Im glad we got to hear him. I was curious how he sounded in interviews but I came up empty when I searched the net. I just want to know he didnt suck in the interview setting. Not to worry. The dude sounded great on College Football Live. It is really nice to see the Big East represented by some top shelf talent.

Is Quo permabanned or just been given a suspension? To be honest I never had a problem with him.

RE: Aresco on College Football Live
See the clip with Darren Rovell with Joe Tessitore on how obviously it is when Joe tries to knock the Big East...when he even resorts to AIR QUOTES in regards to the POWER 5 Conferences...and then says something like they are CLEARLY a cut above in the world of college football.

Way to go JOE...everyone knew ESPN couldn't resist a DIG...a DIG YOU WERE TOO CHICKEN TO DO WITH THE NEW COMMISH, Avesco!

http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=8269195

Go to the 1:05 min mark

PS. Still sucks that Rovell is now with ESPN...it won't take long to ruin his coverage.

Have a listen.

I love it. Guy sounds like a complete 180 from the last two stiffs that we've seen in the position in terms of dealing with the media.

RE: Aresco on College Football Live
That doesn't make any sense... in one hand he says, the league lost some key players, but added key players - mentioned Memphis as an example of a boost for basketball, but then says television revenues are based mostly on football and doesn't mention the addition of Boise State, who is the biggest non-major conference name outside of ND and BYU in football. The Broncos scored plenty of nightly cable ratings wins for ESPN over the last decade. Then mention NBC's desire for content and an upcoming bidding war, and the significant increase in quantity the league can offer, all causing increases larger than everyone is expecting... just to finish with they won't be in the same realm as the Big 5.

During the exclusive early rights negotiations rejected - there was no tv competition, there were only 8 football programs for content, and there was strong basketball content. Now, there will be tv competition, there will be 12-14 football programs for content, and there is still strong basketball content. Just like the example of comparing values of the PAC and SEC; the Big East is worth more as a whole than the individual sum of its members... ESPN just wants to lowball another conference like it has the ACC to keep costs down.
