CFL 8/14
The new commissioner has been hired.
CFL is about to start

Over/Under on number of slaps Testicletore and May Day take on the Big East on air today even after this great hire.

I set it somewhere around 5.

They will talk about how impressive the new guy is, but....

"Let's face it.... it's still the Big East, and blah, blah, blah..."

Any predictions?

Yep. And Testicletore said they would "grade" the hire.

New commish was terrific.

Testicletore then brought in ESPN's, Sports Buisness Reporter who said that the BE will get more money than they would have without this hire, but that it still won't exceed what the BE turned down in 2011.

Lol

Could they be more obvious with the "agenda"?

Didn't actually Aresco interviewed, but very disappointed in the ESPN accounting of the news. Tessitore and Darren (analyst) were very adamant that the nBE was not in the league with the other 5 (so called) "Power" conferences, and that the new TV Contract still will NOT get back to the level of the ESPN offer in 2011.

Again, ESPN doing their negative spin on what appears to be a BIG Move by the nBE!

Do those D Bags ever mention that their employer is the current broadcast contract holder for the Big East. Disclosure please.

Darren Rovell, the ESPN business reporter, was just hired from NBC a few weeks ago, officially on 8/6. He was saying roughly the same things there in the spring.

Hhhmmmm..... McMurphy leaves CBS to go to ESPN shortly after he writes several disparaging articles about the future BE media deal.....

My thoughts exactly... It's going to be a very intense 60 period (09 - 10) for ESPN because, IMHO, ESPN has more to lose here.

ESPN already lost....as NBC & NBC Sports ARE and will be a NATIONAL PLAYER in a market that ESPN had previously "owned" (collegiate sports...outside of a few deals with CBS and ND's NBC contract).

ESPN enjoyed 30 plus years without any real national competitor but now...there is a new kid on the block and its name is NBC/NBC Sports and they are here to STAY!

Rovell is trolling hard. Either

a) Big East gets less money then ESPN offered in 2011 or

b) Big East gets more money and Rovell/ ESPN claims that the other parties overpaid.

LOL at Rovell trying to sound like he is impartial. ESiPN has such an agenda in this thing they should just stop trying to hide it.
