Benny White suggests a decision wasn't made as of yesterday and another source 'he gone'.

I say, offer Murphy more $ and see if he'll stay... :)

Everyone just relax. Mike Brown is a good coach, I believe the players like him and will stay, he has a great personality and he seems like a guy who values the coaching position at EMU. If Murphy leaves, everything will be fine if Brown is hired--and I don't see how Eastern doesn't make that hire. Season saved, everyone breathe.

Something don't smell right about this, I can't put my finger on it. Were there another factor that could be causing this? Wasn't there a situation
with him coming here? I thought I recall reading something with him leaving his previous school and our AD talking about it. I must say its a shocker.

You'll have to wait until Steeter writes his memoirs -i.e. It could only happen to emu. There has been a lot of unstability in the athletic department over the past 25+ years. If it's not one thing, it's another.

Even Andy Katz called the situation "strange" and said it would be a complete slap in the face to leave this late in the summer.
