[split] Permaban Bet - Get In or Get Out by Friday Noon
Gee, I wonder who is going to win the permaban bet?

Spoiler alert: My money is on the same side that was ALWAYS going to win that bet. The side that based their conclusions on basic logic and real math rather than blogger rumors and phony math.

This one was never in much doubt, IMHO. Well, maybe a little doubt when the idiotic Florida State BOT chair opened up his mouth without having any real idea what the hell he was talking about and then the football coach naively waded into those same treacherous waters. However as the days passed by and the adults (read decision makers) had a chance to speak, it was pretty clear where this was headed - back to the shore of reality.

The Big 12 will expand again, there is no doubt about that. I just happen to think that it will be some time before they do and when they do their choices will be Louisville as team No. 11 well as someone from the grouping of Brigham Young, Air Force, Rutgers, South Florida or Cincinnati. Hell, eventually it could be ALL of those teams.

The ironic thing from a WVU perspective - the primary drivers of most of this goofy nonsense - is that they would be SIGNIFICANTLY better off if things were to play out as I am predicting they will.

Think about how great it would be for West Virginia if they were joined by Louisville and say, Cincinnati? Suddenly, their fans would have an easily driveable game every year and the Ohio Valley would become B12 territory. That would take the one obvious negative associated with their joining the B12 - being a clear geographical outlier - and it would basically neutralize that concern.

What kind of an imbecile can't see the enormous value in that? One who is too blinded by spite and hatred to see the big picture, that's who.

I want to make it absolutely clear that I also happen to believe that it is entirely possible that the ACC could lose teams at some point. Of course that's a possibility? Hell, it may even be likely? I just happen to believe that the teams it loses will be to the B1G and/or the SEC, not the comparatively middling and historically unstable B12.

What type of an institution would be foolish enough to leave a historically rock solid league for one that has never found any sense of stability and what kind of an idiot would take such an enormous leap backwards academically without a HUGE step forward financially? Nobody with a brain in their heads would make/recommend such an asinine decision because they would be fired/forced to resign immediately for gross negligence of their fiduciary responsibilities to the institution.

I understand that this is an impossible concept for many of you to grasp but these are universities, not franchises.

If people do not agree with me, then they are stupid.
