By the time we get to CUSA, our first class will be 4th year Juniors. We'll just be young as a program, not player wise.

RE: So 49rs you better win some with this weak schedule
You made my point. Last year, ODU was in the same boat. 4-year juniors from a class sold on powerpoint presentations. First season in CAA. Expectations were low, but we competed well for a 6-2 CAA record. Many breaks went our way, particularly v. JMU and WM. Had an easy home playoff game and lost to Ga Southern in 2nd round. While I respect the CAA and FCS, this is a far cry below the Marshalls, ECUs and So Miss's of the world. I hope you get there quicker than ODU, but trust me when I say this, we beat the "schedule" by about half the time, so competing early will be a challenge.

For Fatalisk. Yes I am a funny guy. Especially after a few Woodford's and cigars.!!!

I think that it's really cool that ODU and Charlotte will play each other in the two transitional years and then every year in divisional play. Rivals and each others longest series.

I'll reserve my opinion until I see said players actually play.

This, but I am encouraged that we've landed three three stars in the last three days, even if two of them were transfers.

Two of them will never play in CUSA, but they should be better than the average player on many of the teams we're playing the first two years.

I just hope we come into CUSA with two winning seasons under our belt. It will help us sell recruits on Charlotte's potential going in CUSA.

If we finish the first two years with awful records and then move to a much better level of play, that will be a really tough sell.

CUSA has given us a great opportunity and I'd hate, for their sake and ours, to blow it.

I'm not stating by any means that Charlotte comes out of the game and is in the top half of CUSA. However, we now know after our 1st recruiting class our intentions to go FBS. How many classes did ODU have before that was determined? I believe this will help us strengthen our base of talent before playing in CUSA.

no doubt it will help knowing right away. As stated in a article I posted on here. This time last year we didn't have any commits. Now that its known we're going FBS to CUSA we have 16 and 12 of them are rated. It's like a shot of adrenaline.

That's a great point, and may very well accelerate that ability to compete in a shorter time period. Transfers are a funny thing.....some are GREAT (like Ronnie Cameron and Deron Mayo from when Hofstra disbanded) and some fizzle out. Hopefully yours will do well, and the ratings they carry with them surely do not hurt.

Hey, it's a schedule, and you'll finally be on the field. You certainly won't win them all, but we're all cheering for you to win as many as you can, learn a few things, and get ready to play at a higher level.

Do any Charlotte fans have any information on the 2014 schedule?

I'll probably be trying to get to the Charlotte-Old Dominion game in 2013.
