So this is the graphic in your post the 'final' new design? I'm curious about the exterior, can't wait to see some updated graphics.

Regarding the BHNS comparion, BHNS is just aluminum bleachers in a 360 bowl, right? This will be a full-up concrete stadium. Any word on bleachers/benches, or a combo thereof?

Either way, welcome news. Can't wait to see it!!

This is a rendering of the basic main design plans. Not the detailed renderings. This layout will likely be the way the bowls and grandstands will look, and how they will be configured in relation to the surrounding buildings/streets.
In between the two levels is where the luxury suites and club boxes will be. Those will be at street level. The lower bowl is sunken, and the upper grandstand is above the luxury/club level.

The exterior will have brick/concrete facade, and a rumored section that will have a visual lighting system that will distinguish it from any other stadium in the NCAA. Also, associated with this rumor is that there may be a feature that will light up the Houston sky after each victory. Perhaps a red light beam. I am not certain.

Between the dowtown view cut our of the northeast corner of the upper grandstands, the lighting display on the exterior facade, and the possible skyward lighting feature, the new stadium will be one that is instantaniously recognizable to the common college football fan whn it is seen on TV. There will be plenty of "money shots" for the camera crews, and most importantly..... the beer will flow like wine!

Thanks for the information! Sounds like exciting times are just around the corner for Houston football. Have you heard any forcasts as to how long after completion of 40K phase-1 they think it will be before 50K phase-2 might occur? Ive never heard anything about thier expectations in that regard.

My best guess would be right after the first season we sell out 40K.

If you ask me how long before I think that occurs.... I would guess after the 3rd season. But, I am an opptomist.

A gradual balance must occur to protect season ticket growth. If you expand to fast then the demand for tickets weakens, and season ticket sales can falter.

My wife is smoking so I am not complaining.

Sweet stadium. It looks a lot like the RENT for UCONN design wise.

RE: New UH Stadium
Happened to be in Louisville tonight on business before hitting the road through Ohio and decided to go by the UofL campus. Man, what a beautiful stadium. Campus is a bit torn up with construction but the football and baseball stadiums are nice.

I hope the UH football stadium, though smaller than the current Pappa John's Stadium, is as nice and an all seater. Also, I'm hoping that the new TV money is good for the nBE and UofL stays a while. This would be the closest venue for me to see my Coogs play when UH joins the conference.

Here's a pic from my phone from the outside tonight:
