We'll fight fight fight for F-A-U
There's football in paradise!
We'll fight fight fight for F-A-U
We know we're gonna win and it's feelin mighty nice
Cheering our football
team up in the field
And waving our colors too (Hoot Hoot)
The fighting owls are on the prowl
GO- F-A-U
Hit 'em high
Hit 'em Low
Go Owls, Go!

I don't know the last time you've been to a game and heard the student section and cheerleaders, but ever since my frosh year (2010, last year at Lockhart) we've changed the bridge to simply: F......A.....U.... Fight fight fight. Gooooooooo Owls!
I know it's not official, but it's what we've been doing to make to at least somewhat respectable.

stAte packs the tailgaters in when the team is doing well, at least early on in the season.

I was more impressed with stAte's Gameday than Troy. But I think I've been to Troy both times when Auburn/Bammer were playing each other.

I went to the UL and stAte game last year, and I didn't see any tailgating going on besides a lone UL tent. This was in the area between the convocation center and their football field. Do stAte fans tailgate somewhere else? Only thing I heard was the 20 mph wind and Cajun music coming from the UL tent.

Tailgating drops off as it gets colder...high winds, overcast sky usually doom the tailgate area. If weather cooperates and its early in the season it is jam packed. Most ASU fans did not know how to handle last year's success...it was kinda surreal. If winning becomes a habit I imagine tailgating late in the season will begin to mimic early season tailgating.

I really wasn't trying to get the name game started. Just force of habit for me. I don't really care about it either way, so I'll try to make the effort to make sure I refer to the Cajuns as UL from now on.

Z, I'd love to experience one of y'alls tailgates. Y'all apparently put on some of the best. I'll be with one of my old professors who is from over your way, so we apparently have some other "visits" lined up as well.

So, thanks to the bowl game, Ladd has been visited the most apparently. From an outsiders perspective, what was y'alls impression of the old gal? Any issues encountered? Just curious.

We hate it, but at the same time recognize that we couldn't have started the program without Ladd being made available to us. Parking sucks, especially for visitors, scoreboards are old and sad looking, no video board, and she apparently lacks up to date wiring that would allow for wireless, and/or certain types of broadcasts.

We're there though for at least another 3-5 years.

Oh! A fellow Trojan, carry on then. 04-cheers

Ya know, you really don't help your case when you do these kinds of things. 01-wingedeagle

It's not our job to force people to call you what you want them to call you. It IS our job to prevent threads from being hijacked and derailed for whatever reason. In the past, Cajun fans have done just that when someone wouldn't refer to their school as Louisiana or UL (which I personally do). But we're done with that here on SBCbbs, there will be no more of it.

Now let's get back to the OT. 04-cheers

I really want to visit Louisiana's and Western Kentucky's stadiums.

They had a huge tailgate behind the Pressbox last time I was there, along with folks near the outdoor track. Most businesses on the way to the university had something about the "Redwoofs" on their signs, and buildings.

I was pretty impressed.

North of the stadium is Red Wolf Run, which is reserved tailgating spots for regular donors. West of the stadium is Tailgate city which is mostly corporate tg . East of the stadium is the pines which is mostly greek & other students. Some others tg near the baseball field or old track or near the pond.
