UTSA - 23,000
Opening game, but Thursday night.

Nicholls St - 18,000
FCS team. Could be higher, but 18k is a realistic expectation for a lesser known opponent.

Troy - 35,000
Hard one to guess. On the one hand, it's the first SB game, and against Troy. On the other, we'll have just played NC State and Miss St. If we have a respectable showing against those guys, I say minimum 25k from South. If not, maybe more around 20-22k. If Troy brings a good crowd as everyone's expecting, we could approach a sell out (38k and change).

FAU - 23,000
Homecoming, so it could be higher. Depends a lot though on how we look thus far into the season.

FIU - 20,000
20k is a good average number for the remaining two home games. We've determined our hardcore base to be in the neighborhood of 14-16k that were turning up for Kentucky Wesleyan and the like. Season ticket sales have increased, and we'll get a few more first timers.

MTSU - 20,000
Same note as for FAU. Maybe a few more just because it's the last game of the year. If we're playing for bowl consideration ( 04-rock ) , could be significantly higher.

= 23,167 average. If we surprise some teams (and ourselves), I could see our average bumping up a few thousand for the late season games.

The Mean Green will not average over 20K unless we go on some crazy winning streak.

Our home schedule is awful.

Very similar to our schedule; our only OOC home game is against McNeese State.

I think the main thing that might help our attendance is that our first part of the schedule is lighter than normal. We start out with McNeese State, FAU, and Memphis, which could be 3 wins. Starting out 3-0 might give the casual fans a reason to come to the games.

I think Nicholls will have a better turn out than that.
Thanks to the Thursday opener, it is going to be a lot of folks first chance at some football.
I bet we clear 20K for that game.

Louisiana Ragin Cajuns will top the 10,000 season ticket sale mark so getting to our goal o 35k is slightly less than a third of the way complete.

Unless we're winning alot more than we're losing, there isn't a snowball's chance in hell that we average 20k.

If we're contending for a bowl by the MTSU game, we'll average 30,000 for the season. I agree with your analysis overall.

It always annoys me to hear people say, "FIU and FAU." Lumps yall together and doesn't flow well. I think it should be, FIU and Florida Atlantic. Just my opinion though.

BurnTheHorse, you are absolutely right! Kind of like Loui.....ah never mind.

I realize that this particular thread does not really pertain to us newbies. That said, I believe that in this our 1 and only year in the WAC, TX ST will average over 20k . .. and I fully anticipate that we'll avg 20k+ in our first season in the Sun Belt Conference . . .. . 02-13-banana

Interesting that we have topped 10K without a push!!!! Think that with 3 weeks to go a huge push will come--Advertising but more importantly HUDvertising----If the guy gets to talk to the community, they listen--So I say 11K and now we look at the rest---Think Lamar brings 1K---First game is always a huge student backing and with last year it should be better than ever----Finally the walk-up gate has always been the biggest amount and think it will still be----HUD wants 35K a game --So does the rest of the Cajun Nation!!!!

If your presidents had made the right move a few months back, you'd have App State and JMU very likely topping 30k. But alas no.

You'd think that, wouldn't you, but playing teams like ULM, FAU, and USA doesn't exactly bring the crowds in droves especially if you lose.

Question: How well have App, JMU, or Georgia Southern drawn in losing campaigns? Have any of them endured the 1-11 or 2-10 records that usually accompany the jump to FBS?

GreenFlag is right. TxSouthern won't draw esp after big UNT loss to LSU, having ULL on a Tuesday turns an attractive game into a probable attendance disaster and no disrespect to South Alabama but unless we are on a roll attendance will be squat. Average could be as low as 15,000.
