Council Approves Several Action Items and Welcomes New Members

The group, comprised of the Chief Executive Officer at each member institution, welcomed new members James M. Danko of Butler University and Dr. Michael Rao of Virginia Commonwealth University. The group also approved procedures for integrating Butler and VCU into the A-10 beginning on July 1, 2012.

The Council approved recommendations from the athletic directors, including expanding the championship field in men’s and women’s soccer to eight teams each and baseball to a seven-team championship. The Presidents approved the 2012-13 operating budget and a men’s basketball sportsmanship pre-game protocol. Additionally the conference schedule for women’s basketball will increase from 14 to 16 games beginning with 2013-14 season.
