Both good additions for CAA football. Stony Brook has grown their AD budget from $9mil to $20mil in a very short period. Just added scholarships to FB about 7 years ago and will be competitive in the CAA. With the additions and if URI stays. The CAA has quickly become a Northeastern focus conference. Now they will have 8 teams from the North and only 3 from the South.

I'm so glad we left, I have no connection to the new schools. The basketball side is going to be a real mess when GMU leaves. Now Drexel one of the better school, plays in a old dump that only sits 2K. Then take ODU, VCU and later GMU's RPI out, the CAA will move down a ton. Small time here we come, just wish we could get homes for the other sports outside the CAA. They did get a pretty good TV deal on the backs of ODU and VCU.

Drexel is up and coming, but like UNCW a decade ago, could be a "flash in the pan", and as you say the facility is less than acceptable.
It appears that Delaware is committing to a quality basketball program.

Sooner or later JMU and Towson will realize that being invited to a FBS conference will be predicated on quality basketball.
That may be years if not decades in the future.

Meanwhile, if GMU leaves, the CAA is done.

Funny.
Two Albany posters, ClickClack, and Boisydid had all of this figured out well before Albany was even a blip. Those two also called the SBU football only move as well.
I think Boisydid was posting about this in may.

The idiots at Mason are holding out for an invite from the Big East. Or if the BE splits then an invite from the former BE BB only schools. Good luck with that.

They are even more delusional then the supremely moronic fans at JMU who actually think an invite to join the BE for football will be received.
