FIU gets a commitment from top local player
FIU just got some more good news in the recruiting front, as 6-4/190 DB, Thomas Simeon, just committed to FIU. He has, reportedly, offers from FSU, LSU, Clemson, Ole Miss, and several others, but just picked FIU. He becomes the 12th "known" commtiment, and we have been getting some of the top local players lately in the Miami area.

Excerpt:

Quote:The decision that Simeon Thomas made to commit to Florida International is absolutely huge for the Panthers, as he has been a heavily recruited safety on a national scale. I mean, two huge programs in in-state FSU and SEC powers LSU offered him.

Buffalo, Akron, South Alabama, and Marshall represent his lower offers. Major programs that showed interest in Thomas include Rutgers, Clemson, Miami, Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Minnesota, Louisville, Georgia, Florida, and Arkansas. As you can see, Thomas has been looked at by quite a bit of SEC teams. In fact, some outlets reported Clemson, Florida, and Rutgers as major teams to have offered him.

Wow . . sounds like a great get for FIU. These are just the type players that the SBC teams need to snag.

Go SBC !! 02-13-banana

This is huge!! These are the type of players that would've never considered playing for a Sun Belt team just a few years ago. Didn't Arky State get a commitment from the #1 JC OL a couple of days ago?

Yep, huge is the word . . for both FIU and the SBC . . as was the #1 JUCO OL signing on with stAte. When any of our schools snag a highly recruited player we can all as SBC fans take pride in that accomplishment. KUDOS to FIU . . 04-cheers

I am convinced that the SBC is going to have a big year in football and I am so ready to play the game on the field . . not in the press and not in the minds of the fans.

Good luck to FIU, but my prediction is that FIU will lose to stAte . . 04-jawdrop

Go FIU . . Go stAte . . Go SBC !! 02-13-banana
