RE: El Paso Ballpark acquisition is running its course according to former team owner
I like alternative rock.. So it's tough for me to listen to the Q.
I know some like it, but if Baracuda (by Heart), Money, etc., are played any more than they are, I'm going to drive off of Scenic Drive....
As for Buzz, I hate listening to him laugh at his own jokes.
I enjoy it better when Monster and Duke are on their own.

Does he refer to her as "the ratings race"?

What's with all the freaking groups of (10 or less individuals) who are trying to derail this?
Norma Chavez is so against it. Since the Tigua Tribe owns the Diablos, and have contributed money in the past to her State Rep campaigns, she has aligned herself with their cause (Regardless of what's best for the city).
Damn I hate El Paso politics.

You're right. Not uncommon. But it just seems like they are coming out of the wood-work.

Naysayers are everywhere, you find them in every town and city. Some naysayers have stopped bigger projects in other large cities from happening also.
In a few years when the stadium is already built in downtown and the new team is being supported, you won't find the naysayers anywhere.. they never own up to being wrong.

Just heard on NBC that the ball park is one step closer. I really didn't catch everything, but they said the league has accepted it and just need to work out a couple tweaks with the league president

I saw the news on the El Paso Times too, this is great news for the city and for the fans who want to see Triple A ball in El Paso.

Yep. I was talking with a Paul Foster employee. It seems like it's a formality at this point.
Damn, this is exciting stuff.
As for A. Lozano, Norma Chavez, and the other A-holes, who opposed it... "Kiss my SSA". I did research on each of them, and sure enough, their previous political campaigns had contributions from the Tigua's (who currently own the Diablos).
I know there are always naysayers, but don't f'n tell me you're an organization for responsible government, when you are representing a special interest group.... Aholes

She was the worst, I still remember back when Gov. Hairspray actually was for gambling and trying to push gambling, which was the year before the Democrats lost both chambers. She voted against it. That was the same year she had the meltdown yelling at Pickett on the House floor. There is a reason why El Paso doesn't get money from the state. Luckly we now have Margo and Gonzalez, too bad Shapleigh isn't in power anymore. Currently the only person pushing for gaming is the House Speaker of Texas, but that is due to his ownership in SA Racetrack.

If you think Margo and Gonzalez are going to bring more money to El Paso, I have a City Hall building to sell you at a rock bottom price.
El Paso politics dictates that they have to do everything behind closed doors and in secret and then they wonder why El Pasoans get upset.
