Derek Lawson graduated from ASU. Frankie Jackson, David Oku and Sigregory Thornton will be better.

To be honest, the only teams that would surprise me if they won the SBC next year would be MT, UNT, and FAU; all the other ones definitely have a claim as to why they might win the Belt.

WKU lost one conference game last year, and they're predicting them to drop to 7th?
Troy won 2 conference games, and they're expected to reach 2nd?

its from WarhawkReport.com - read the banner. If you start in Troy rivals and wonder into another schools rivals site, it still says Troy.rivals.com/

I seem to remember a WKU fan pimping his articles around recently, and a UNT fan posting about North Texas three times a day. Plenty of other posters do their own pimping around here, so lets not single me out, bud.

that nobody except troy fans care about because it has them in second. (i've not seen them ranked anywhere else that high)

it's shoddy work. shoulda put it in the projections thread but he attention-hoed it out in true 'look at me...look at me' troy fashion.

this is all just my personal opinion. nothing more. nothing less. i realize i'm not supposed to do anything short of worship troy but after last year i can't bring myself to attending that church.

I don't see what the big deal is. I saw my school picked second, liked the article, posted it here for thoughts. Just as many other fans have done so with their school being picked first or second. Try to have some fun. I (like some other Troy fans) am not asking you to bow down to the "mighty troy" - because we have a lot to prove. I think we'll be much improved, but I'm not chest beating saying we're gonna ransack the sunbelt, beed.

EDIT: Sorry for the typos.

Happened to Troy, very similar situation.

Second place in 2010 was 6-2 (Troy). That's only four more wins. Arkansas State went from 4-4 to 8-0 and Western Kentucky went from 2-6 to 7-1 (5 spots). Louisiana went from 3-5 to 6-2 (3 spots).

By the way, no one thought WKU would make that jump. Troy may not win the sunbelt, but don't sleep on us, we'll be much improved, a jump to 2nd or 1st place isn't out of the realm of possibility.

as dwight schrute would say:

false: willie taggart predicted the hilltoppers in first place last year. a 7-1 record in most years could have brought home first.

*** if by 'no one' you mean posters i would agree. i certainly didn't.

I put more trust in the Power Rankings and projections that other posters put together on here than the stuff I get from Professional Sports writers.

The folks here actually know the teams and care about the programs.

With a lot of these writers, I get the feeling that some editor yelled "Crap! We don't have a ranking for the SBC yet! Somebody throw something together!"
