YAY FREE HEALTHCARE!
Free health care started toady..

A bunch of services were made "free" today by Obama care meaning that the doctors and supplies will cost nothing...

What doctors will still get paid as will suppliers...

Ok so today insurance just got a bit more expensive for everyone!

Don't see how it is free when you are forced to buy health insurance.

RE: YAY FREE HEALTHCARE!
They may have to pay, but that cost will be passed down to the consumer. You can count on that. As another poster stated, nothing is ever free.

The new health care will benefit the poor, won't bother the rich, but destroy the middle class.

RE: YAY FREE HEALTHCARE!
For christs sake, the costs are already being passed down to the consumers and they have been for years. I get it, you don't think you should have to pay for anyone elses healthcare, but you already are and in the most expensive/least efficient manner possible. Look at that list, you know what almost all of them have in common? They're preventative measures. They're cheap, they're effective, and they can prevent *MASSIVELY EXPENSIVE* healthcare issues in the future. Right now people go to ER's to get this sort of stuff done, and it costs exponentially more. That money? It still goes to you.

The simple fact is we're already paying for this, why not look at the solution pragmatically and at least do it in an efficient and cost-effective manner?

Only kind of. Not everyone starts today. Only new polices start today. There are many that won't start for a wile(possibly up to 2 years). Also note, they had a lady on Washington journal who is very supportive of this and she made it abundantly clear that it isn't free it just means there was no co-pay but it was in the cost of the plan.

3,4,5,6 are already available free at any local health department. Was that not sufficient?

You're forgetting that the ACA isn't pragmatic or cost-effective.

RE: YAY FREE HEALTHCARE!
This is nothing different the grossly ineffective medicare.

Facts:
1) Insurance Companies are not going to lose profit margin.
2) The amount of people that can truly afford it as opposed to those who cant is not going to dramatically shift from the current divide.

So lets say a group of 100 people incur $100,000 amount of medical costs/bills under this healthcare act. Everyone has coverage. Of those 100 people, 20 of them cannot afford to pay insurance premiums. The $100,000 bill now must be compensated by the remaining 80 people and the government. The government gets its money from taxes, which also comes from those 80 people. Face it, if you cant afford healthcare then you arent paying taxes either.

So insurance companies jack up premiums for the remaining paying customers and then the government subsidizes the rest from taxes collected by the paying customers. Economics is something Obama must have slept through.

RE: YAY FREE HEALTHCARE!
looks like Obamacare hit a snag with the August 1st mandates...

Quote:In Colorado on Friday, U.S. District Court Judge John Kane, a Carter appointee, granted a preliminary injunction on behalf of Hercules Industries, halting the government’s ability to enforce its anti-conscience mandate against the company while the lawsuit challenging the mandate continues in court.

Hercules is a family-owned, for-profit company whose self-insured health plan for its 265 employees does not cover abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization, and contraception. It sued the Obama Administration to protect its right to continue to administer its health plan in a way that comports with the family’s religious faith. The injunction is the first-ever ordered against the mandate.

So we have a company that supplies health care insurance... but it's not good enough for the govt..

Quote:The Administration, according to Judge Kane, argued that “as a for-profit, secular employer, Hercules cannot engage in an exercise of religion.” In other words, the company owners forfeited their right to religious liberty as soon as they sought to earn a living by running a corporation. Under that logic, if the government decided to require any business that served or prepared food to offer pork, kosher or halal butchers would be forced to forgo their most deeply held religious convictions in order to stay in business.

Wow... Lose your religion or lose your company?

But that's not the scary part! (just in case the above is just hyperbole, the next part doesn't appear to be...)

Do you know how expensive it gets, even if you again ALREADY SUPPLY HEALTH INSURANCE?

Quote:“PPACA also imposes monetary penalties if Hercules were to continue to offer its self-insured plan but continued omitting abortifacients, contraceptive and sterilizations,” said the Newlands’ complaint. “The exact magnitude of these penalties may vary according to the complicated provisions of PPACA, but the fine is approximately $100 per day per employee, with minimum amounts applying in different circumstances.

With 265 employees, a business like the Newlands’ would need to pay the government $26,500 per day if they decided not to comply with Sebelius’s regulation and insured their employees anyway. Over 365 days that would amount to $9,672,500.

They're offering health-care, but because it's not what the govt wants you to give out.... they have to pay $9M dollar fine a YEAR?!?!? Do you really think this company makes $9Million a year in money they can afford to give the govt? And this is just a "Small business'.. . just imagine if they had more employees.
