Overlooking WKU
I know that the preseason predictions on this board are just opinions, but most you are blind when it comes to WKU. Let look at the facts:

WKU went 7-1 in the conference and was one play away for being 8-0.

WKU returns 18 starters and 22 seniors, most in the SBC

WKU loses only 2 players from the offense and yes we do have players that can run the football behind a veteran offensive line. Those players include two MR. Footballs in the state of Kentucky. Willie says “We are loaded at running back and no one knows it.”

WKU has a 4 year starting senior QB that can get the job done. See 7-1 in the conference last year.

WKU has had the top rated recruiting class the last 3 out of 4 years according to Rivals.

WKU has one of the top rated Defenses returning.

WKU has the top returning secondary in the conference.

WKU has the best player in the conference on Defense ANDREW JACKSON

WKU has most likely the highest rated player EVER out of high school that transferred from Florida playing safety this year in Jonathan Dowling.

Rivals rated him the 2 best safety and top 10 best overall player coming out of high school. He will be a sophomore.

The conference championship will be played at FIU this year and the winner between FIU and WKU will be conference champs.

western will be lucky to finish .500 because we lost rainey and jakes is our quarterback. that's been well documented over here amigo.

we have no running game and the worst starting qb in our conference. nobody cares about jackson. the best defensive player is on fiu. just ask. you might wanna tone down the rah-rah western crap.. it's a bit much.

thanks.

just keepin' it real.

He's clearly referencing that thread; I just don't see why he couldn't have posted his facts in there. It would be like me starting a whole new thread to say how I feel like MT basketball will be just as good next year and complain how everyone thinks we will not be as good due to the loss of Dendy...

Unless there is some major string of injuries to the FIU team, this should be their year. Talent, coaching, experience, and scheduling seem to line up well for them to maybe have a 10-2 or 9-3 season.

UNT should finish in a respectable middle of the pack.

That isn't likely.

FIU, stAte, WKU, and ULL should definately finish ahead of UNT. Troy probably will as well. UNT is better, but so is the rest of the Belt.

GreekTopper has been banging this drum all offseason in every thread that even remotely mentions WKU might not win the Sun Belt this year.

He's making some extremely bold predictions, good for him, but what a tremendous amount of ammunition to give the rest of the board. GreekTopper may end up putting Crow on the endangered species list by himself.

he's a greek....you expect good sense??? just kidding. really.

go look on the projections thread (where this should be banned to) and see if you can find one middle poster that has western ranked ahead of middle.

i'm not gonna proofread it but yesterday every time i saw predictions from a middle poster they had you guys ahead of us. will those guys have to borrow some crow from greek topper to gnaw on if that doesn't happen?

I think anyone who makes predictions, especially in July/early August, should be prepared to eat a little crow, but there is a difference between most MT fans(who believe we'll take a step forward this year and WKU will take a step back which may result in us finishing a place or two ahead of them) and one WKU fan in particular banging the "WKU Sun Belt 2012 Champions" drum all offseason and making a new thread solely devoted to telling everyone who's not picking WKU to win the belt that they are "blind". If WKU does anything other than win an outright championship, that earns at least a modest helping of crow, if WKU finishes middle of the pack or worse that earns truckloads of crow.

Personally, I make no prediction, at least not yet, I do believe that we'll be better than most are giving us credit for and I believe that your Toppers will not be quite as good as most your fans believe, perhaps that means we finish ahead of you, perhaps we don't, but I do not believe that the 2012 Sun Belt football championship trophy will be residing in Murfreesboro or Bowling Green and I'll gladly eat crow if I'm wrong about that(more gladly if it ends up in Murfreesboro of course).

you'll rarely see me make any prediction/projections. mainly because i've raised 2 sons. both fine young men. but i also know how a.d.d./scattered they can be.

how does a group of young men get boat-raced by indiana state then go 7-1 in conference?

2 possibilities there. they underestimated isu as kids can do...got punched in the mouth and didn't respond well.

or.

the sun belt is not really very good. a middle of the pack fcs conference in all actuality. i'm not so sure that's not true. we don't do worth mierda ooc. the same team that lost to an awful u.k. team and an fcs team was 1 first down from going undefeated in conference.

i would hate to have my living determined by 18-23 year old men. i sure won't project what they'll do.

Most people realize that when making projections (differentiated from predictions) that its all subject to change, and are our best guess at the time. It's not serious.

Here is what I don't understand. FIU and WKU have about the same situations returning this year. Yet everyone is singing about FIU and discounting WKU. Remember we beat FIU last year. I stick with my prediction that the winner of the belt will be the winner of the WKU FIU game in Miami. I am going with the TOPS
