Because the gov't serves the people, not the reverse.

so the government can't be armed and serve it's people?

It can, but it would also be nice for an explanation and some transparency on why they just made a deal to allow the department charged with protecting our citizens at home to purchase enough bullets to shoot us all with 1.4 of them. Especially when they spent $100-$150 million to do so.

ammo costs are going up...go ahead and buy enough now to save money later...I would also like to think our military and police have PLENTY of rounds to practice with.

I don't see a problem with the government buying ammo.

when you hand over money to someone...it's not your money any more...when you hand over money to the government it's equally not your money anymore.

Wow. You really typed that?

The government is accountable to its citizens, Drew.

And by "hands over" you mean "has taken from him by force of law", right?

One major difference - I don't have a choice when the gov't takes my money. Are you implying that if another regular citizen sticks a gun in my face and I hand him my money, it's not mine anymore and I don't have a right to attempt to recoup it?

Of course that's not the issue at all. But feel free to keep thinking you saved face.

But what's up w/ these neo-libs? Used to be liberals abhorred the military-industrial complex, and would be outraged at this unnecessary stockpiling of munitions.

Modern libs are just, well, stupid.

And now a message from sanity...

Once again:

The order was for 5 years to purchase UP TO that amount.

We still don't know how much they bought, how much they paid or what they will be used for.

We now return you to your delusions...

why are you afraid of the Government having ammo for their guns?
