Mitt Romney got into a little bit of heat today for not giving the UK a glowing early report card on how they're handling the Olympic Games. The UK Prime Minister David Cameron had a nice comeback, telling the media that it's a little easier holding an Olympics in the middle of nowhere (Salt Lake City, 2002).

I'm sure Obama and the Democrats will pounce on Romney's statements a bit to try to demonstrate that he's a little green in foreign diplomacy. But I do agree with Romney on this one. So far, the London Games are off to a rough start with under-staffed security forces, some lackluster response from the locals and yesterday's North Korea/South Korea flag gaffe on the video scoreboard.

Hopefully they'll get their act together. I expect an impressive opening ceremonies tomorrow - maybe not as awe-inspiring as what Beijing did four years ago but I suspect in many ways it will be classier and more clever.
