Personally I'm looking forward to Miami, and VT again. But I really can't wait to watch Pitt play Clemson and FSU the most. I grew up somewhat an FSU fan, haven't followed them since HS though.

Virginia Tech has to be the top one for me just because both had such a good history going right before their departure in 2004. Maybe it's just not remembering history correctly, but I could swear that Heinz was rocking the hardest when VT was visiting - even more so than the BYB.

Second would be FSU from an intrigue standpoint since they are underachievers like Pitt

Third is Georgia Tech because they appear to be the southern version of Pitt

But in reality, I think I will prefer to see Pitt play an ACC schedule over a nBE schedule, so I'll be happy to see them all coming to Heinz - well, maybe Duke would be the exception since their FB is 03-puke

With the exception of Duke, it's liable to be an improvement in overall home schedule no doubt. Duke games in Durham are worse than anything you'd see in the BE as far as environment. If you ever choose between going to Duke or Wake, go to Wake.

Nothing for us to do about it but SU really won out by getting in the Atlantic. Better division in terms of where the football excitement is. Pitt's not really a good fit with the wine and cheese crowd at UVA, UNC, and Duke.

To Steve's credit, he actually requested we get put on the other side. Just didn't happen.

I originally wanted to see Pitt in the Atlantic too. However, having Virginia Tech, Miami and Georgia Tech is pretty solid. I think it's very important to Pitt to play Virginia Tech annually. I wish Maryland was in the same division as Pitt too, but I guess we can't get everything. Besides, I'm not so sure if Pitt couldn't pull off the wine and cheese tailgate atmosphere when visiting. Pitt's fanbase is far from pure bread hillbilly like your typical SEC or WVU fanbase.

Actually I wanted Pitt right in the current division we're heading to. Would rather have Maryland as our cross section rival though. In the Atlantic we would've had less opportunities to play games against schools we have a history with in Miami and Virginia Tech.

When I was thinking wine and cheese crowd, I'm thinking more of a lack of atmosphere at the games themselves. Sedate. Not the actual tailgating. Pitt fans are real football fans once they get inside the stadium.

There's a thread on TOS where some ACC visitors describe the game atmosphere. Check it out. Pretty much dovetails with this view.

Ok, what about 'cuse? I wouldn't care personally but don't we have more history with SU than UM and VPI?

I'm sure you've read all the threads about divisions and what they should look like. Seems like every proposal for the ACC has some snag to it. My dream is a pod with Tech, Maryland, and UVA. Then rotate through the rest.

On the other hand, there is likely to be more tickets available for Duke.

I'm looking forward to almost all of the new opponents. It's certainly a lot more exciting to me than a nBE schedule.
