Great add... I was just about to add the thread but you beat me to it. He is more of a SG than SF. Great defensive player and will fit BT's system well.

Watched him at BT's Team Camps, where he made a good impression and we offered. We're getting a hard working playing, who can finish thru contact, can play many positions. Now we need a big.

we still have a scholarship open for a big. Ramone's commit doesn't effect us pursuing a big.

RE: Ramone Snowden 2013 SG/SF
I've questioned some of Taylor's recruiting strategies in the past, wondering why we continually go after guys with ZERO stars and little to no offers from other teams, but in this case, you can throw all that out the window. I like to consider myself a realist and the fact that I don't sugarcoat things can definitely rub some people the wrong way.

With that said, I love this kid and I think he has a ton of potential playing in Blaine's system. He is a team first guy, reminds me a little of Brad Burgess with a little less range but with a very high basketball IQ. Love this signing, regardless of who else is interested in him or how many stars he has or doesn't have.

Quite frankly, between him and Bacote as tall wing/SG hybrids, I think we may have the potential for a dominant team by the time these guys mature into senior/juniors along with Anichebe and Palmore, among others.

If we can find one dominant big man in this coming recruiting class, I have a feeling we could be looking at an incredible resurgence in our program. I'm talking multiple NCAA tourney bids and perhaps even multiple NCAA tourney wins.

I've been a very harsh BT critic in the past so I think my praise should hold a little weight because I don't give it out just to satisfy other people. I give it out when I think it is warranted.

I was very upset with the job Blaine had done recently in recruiting guys like Key, Larsen, Hicks, Pimentel etc. I thought he REALLY slacked off with the type of guys he was bringing in and we were going to suffer greatly because of it (thank god we managed to get Painter to transfer right or we would absolutely have a losing record this coming season).

But last year, this year and next year's recruiting classes are all of very high quality and I couldn't be more excited about the direction Blaine is currently taking this team in. For far too long we were competing with undersized guards like Delancey, James, Lidonde, Key, Hicks, Brandon Johnson, Drew Williamson (even though he was an absolute winner) and even smallish wings like Morris, Henderson, etc.

I LOVE the new direction of this team, bringing in bigger, stronger guards like Snowden, Clark, Batten, Bacote etc. Almost reminds me a bit of what VCU is doing with the large 4 guard lineup that gets on teams with quickness, fast hands on defense and shooting ability.

If I can criticize him when I disagree with him, I can give him credit when I think he is doing well and I think with this signing, this past year's class and the current direction this program is headed, we should all be very excited about the potential of ODU basketball!

Now just go get us a big PF/C Blaine and we should be set!

RR, other posters can say what they want about your opinions, but I love, love, love, your Big-Foot/Romo sig video! I agree about the Big PF/C. Until we see any signees play for Coach BT, all of the recruiting stories are just that, stories. Some vids and YouTube posts look good, but they are clips of hi-lights and are supposed to look good. They never show when a guy dribbles off his foot, or steps oob, or misses an easy snow-bird, or has his pocket picked again, and again. Even A. Larson looks tall on film, and we all know his game now!

I was a CSNbbs/CAAzone lurker for a while so I've read plenty of RR material. You've got your opinions, RR, but you know your stuff and you own up to what you say. And great news, Snowden is a solid add. Now we need to recruit a player who can develop into a serious banger in the paint. I'm not up-to-date with the recruiting radar, are we currently pursuing anyone that fits the bill?

He wasn't completely under the radar. We didn't exactly beat out Kentucky and Duke, but I know Drexel offered and he had noise from MTSU, Rider, and a few other higher level mids that I don't recall. His akward height vs frame limited the interest in the BCS, but I could see him winding up a Ben Finney-type contributer and fit in nicely as a SF in Taylor's system.

His game will be aired on espnu tonight at 7. Not sure if he will get much playing time due to the level of talent on boo's team.

I was excited after watching him play, but concerned when I saw the other schools who offered.

I hate crossing my fingers on every recruit we get, but such is life.

I wouldn't be too concerned. It isn't like the other schools are Longwood, Radford, Liberty, VMI and The Citadel. Those are good programs, albiet midmajors.

Snowden played well at power forward. He played nearly the entire game an served as a garbage guy. Good passer and defender. On a side note, Boo Williams got embarrassed on national television. It was real sloppy, they were on the wrong end of a bad And-1 mixtape.

His defense is great. He plays the 4 on the team because that is the only way he can get PT. Troy (overrated) Williams plays the 3 and you know he is not coming off the floor for more that 30 seconds, (and that is to fix his jock after getting beat on defense).
