Again, this is the example that I wrote about above...where she gets people to totally forget ALL THE OTHER articles she has written in the past as she only wants people to remember the last one she wrote (i.e. "oh, she is sticking up for the Big East, she's always been a great friend to the Big East!")

I agree. ESPN with her taking part have spent months (years) defining the range of debate when discussing the Big East. Within that range, she's now spending one column defending us, but it's limited to whether or not the Big East stacks up to the ACC... not the fact that the Big East champ (who finished in a 3 way tie with 2 remaining schools) dropped 70 on the ACC champ... or that Boise will be contending for national titles... or that Houston rang up 50+ points regularly last year... etc...
Quote:David Sweeney of Savannah, Ga., writes: "Andrea, as a Pitt alumni living in SEC country, I am..."
Not a big deal, might as well mention it here to David Sweeney:
David Sweeney is a Pitt "alumnus".
David Sweeney and his brother Floyd are Pitt "alumni".
David's sister Mary is a Pitt "alumna".
David's sisters Mary and Jane are Pitt "alumnae" (pronounced like "alumni").
David and Jane are Pitt "alumni" also.
Safest way to get it right is to use the shortened "alum" and "alums" instead.
That is all.
