Cuse and Pitt were great draws and Cuse fans helped fill a lot of arenas in the BOS-WASH. I see the new teams all increasing. I think UCF, Houston and SMU all make big jumps. Memphis will be Memphis--->a league leader. Temple not sure...but I think it goes up solidly.
USF should see a huge jump since they are moving back home to campus and will play in their renovated arena....and coming off their best Big East season ever (first trip to NCAA's in 20 years).
Also, Pitt wasn't much of a "road draw"...but yes, Syracuse fans did help fill a lot of empty seats all over the East Coast and especially in FLA.
If St Johns can jump back...their crowds should grow as well.
Even teams like Rutgers, who normally struggled in past games vs Syracuse, Pitt and WVU, if they can add more conf wins to their side...they too might see a jump up from their historically low attendance figures...as everyone loves a winner.
As far as the newbies:
Temple (join Hoops in 2013) should see a nice increase as well...as their season tix sales alone will help fill in a lot of seats, not counting single game tix sales...as they will probably play "home-home" games with Nova each and every year.
SMU, which has historically terrible attendance, will be playing in a newly renovated arena in 2013...so they too should see a nice attendance jump.
UCF, which averaged approx 7,400 for CUSA games the last 2 seasons in their 9,400 seat arena, should see a nice jump in all games from increased season tix sales...and a lot more single game tix sales (from both UCF Bandwagon fans that want to see Big East teams play, plus Big East alumni....that will attend games in much larger numbers vs what CUSA teams use to bring...which for most games...might have been 10-20 fans at most).
Houston...they need a new arena or a renovated building fast...as even when they have good/solid teams, their attendance is poor, especially for a program with amazing history/tradition.
Memphis, which last year had higher attendance to their non-conf games than they had for CUSA games, should see a heck of a lot more sellouts when Big East teams come to town...so their season tix sales, already pretty high, will only go higher in the coming years.
