2 SEC teams in the playoffs already get the Consolation Bowl terrible 3rds.
Which gives the Orange Bowl fourths.....see how this works? Pecking order. Orange Bowl will likely take the highest ranked school not chosen by the Rose or Champion.
So the #2 ACC team will get a #2 team from another conference.
Assuming that the #1 ACC team makes the playoffs, which most years, is not going to happen. Probably none in the last 10 years.
So we can only assume that B12 makes it every year?

nope, but ACC doesn't have anyone in conference to compare with Arkansas. Or LSU/Alabama. If say LSU goes 13-0, they could have beaten a 11-1 Alabama team that beat Michigan and a 10-2 Arkansas team. Nothing that ACC can do to match that.
Arkansas the most overrated team last year. Only good teams they played, LSU and Alabama, crushed them.
Plus they are coached by the legit insane John L. Smith. Not exactly Bobby Petrino.

I'm not just talking OOC, dude. FSU plays...
Murray State (FCS)
Savannah State (FCS)
Wake Forest (meh)
Clemson
@USF
@NC State
BC (dog)
@Miami (woof, woof)
Duke (more barking)
@VT
@Maryland (might as well be Duke since Edsall was hired)
Florida
So looking at FSU's schedule, half the schedule is filled with mediocre football teams - at best. There are some serious questions about 2 or 3 other teams on the Seminoles schedule, if you ask me...
And who was it that backed out of a game with FSU? Too scared to play them?
If WV and FSU both were 12-0/13-0- WV would probably be ahead in the computers....
Dream on.
no dream. I said computers. WV would have wins over TCU, Texas, Oklahoma, Oklahoma St, Kansas St- all 5 top 25 preseason teams. Florida St would have maybe 4. Marshall over a FCS team is a HUGE difference.

FSU plays 2 FCS programs this year. 'nuf said...
BTW, don't blame WVU for FSU's miserable schedule. The reason WVU bolted The BEast the way they did - breaking the contract with FSU as a result of the move - is because the ACC invited Pitt and Syracuse, effectively destroying every rivalry of significance WVU had. Also, FSU plays every dog in the ACC this year. So FSU can lay the responsibility for their lousy schedule on the doorstep of the conference offices...

I see you don't follow conversations. You just jump in to kibbutz at spots that are convenient for stupid comments...
The reason for FSU's lousy schedule is the ACC...

It's a lot safer assumption than the ACC making it. 5/6(and with Texas and Oklahoma in the early/mid '00s- like 8/10) or 0/10.

try that again. 1 of PAC, B1G, SEC or B12 not making the playoffs.

Dream nothing. Using this years' numbers, if West Virginia goes undefeated, that means wins over #3 Oklahoma State, #8 Kansas State, #12 Baylor, #14 Oklahoma, #18 TCU and #24 Texas, plus bowl-eligible Iowa State and Marshall.
FSU would have wins over #11 Virginia Tech, #15 Clemson, plus bowl-eligible Florida, Georgia Tech, Wake Forest, NC State, and Miami.
Which resume are the computers going to be more impressed with?

Not only that, but just the difference in the 2nd worst win- Kansas vs FCS team- is going to be immense in the computers eyes. Remember, some computers treat FCS teams totally generically, as a team worse than any FBS team.

That's not what I was talking about though. With what has been announced about the new system, the Big 12 has improved.... Instead of last year Kansas St not getting in, now, not only does KSU get in, but Baylor or Okalhoma have a real shot to get in as well....

RE: defending myself
The only reason B12 is getting that TV deal is because of UT & OU. If they had left the Big 12 the fallout league that would've resulted would be lucky to pull $15M per school per year. There's no way the Big 12 is "better" losing the 4 flagship schools. They just happen to have lost those schools at the right time to renegotiate a deal and the networks need to keep Bevo fed.

But still they didn't lose those schools.
And, I'm not talking about the conference as a whole, just their lot in the post-season game. And, without a doubt, they are MUCH stronger for post-season now than they have been.

Sure......if you're Texas or Oklahoma. For everybody else it's much harder. WVU and TCU just joined a conference they'll probably never win so the point about the playoff is completely moot unless living vicariously is the hip thing to do nowadays. The ACC is stong enough they have a solid SOS but not so strong that only a couple of programs can rise to the top.
Big 12 lost 4 schools, not sure what you're talking about there.
